• The updates of Astra are horrible. Almost every second update of the theme breaks something. It became a game in “Russian Roulette”. Sadly they don’t test it well before releasing, this is why we get all these problems almost every 2 months. In the updates, they usually add some stupid extra stuff, while breaking the most basic stuff!! In the end we are like lab rats with this theme. If it was happening once in 6-7 updates…, meh….. but it happens, as I said, literally every second/ third update. Sometimes it breaks almost all the website, sometimes essential parts of it like this time. I am now thinking (seriously) about switching to another theme after all the headache our team experienced during past three years. Including this time!!

    My name is Mehedi, and I’m the Product Manager here at Astra. I wanted to reach out to apologize for the recent update breaks. This was never meant to happen, and we are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused.

    The CSS break was due to an issue with cache handling for some specific cases, and the issue was happening to a certain users’ sites with cache enabled. However, we have released a hotfix version(v4.6.7) to address the issue, and I hope your site is back on track again.

    We take full responsibility and are committed to minimizing it in the future. We always perform extensive tests before releasing an update, but somehow this scenario-based issue slipped through. We will take steps to ensure this doesn’t happen again!

    All our updates, including new features, improvements, and bug fixes, are designed to benefit our users. We’re continuously working to ensure future updates are as smooth as possible.

    Sorry, but I do not understand!
    Everything you wrote are vague and beautiful words that has nothing to do with the deep PROBLEM I highlighted. This problem of breaking the whole website literally every second/third “update” of Astra is a known problem that is being there for years! And especially for the past 1.5 years (I am with astra pro for more than 3 years). Look at your forum here after each update, it literally explodes with major issues of broken websites. Not talking about minor issues, but MAJOR.
    Fact – I worked intensively with almost ~20 website themes during my life and NONE of these themes ever broke the website in the frequency and manner that Astra does. This is simply due to your UN-professionalism (sorry, the reality proves it is!) and due to the fact you are too lazy and/or do not want to hire more people to TEST the theme before you release the update, thus you release a peace of unpolished code with minor and major issues almost every time.

    So, no, I DO NOT understand, dear “Mr.Astra_support”. You answered only because you are afraid of losing customers (this is a bad review, I know) and not because you truly want to IMPROVE your product and your whole way of behavior or even the whole way of conduct in the company.

    I already moved my team’s website from Astra Pro to another theme (of course I won’t advertise it here). This was done by me yesterday and I am very happy with it. Indeed it was a headache, but only once, not like the headache our team has with you every 2-3 months with your unpolished quasi-updates.

    This review was published in order to warn people to not blindly believe the 5 star reviews here. Astra is not the great theme it used to be years ago. The company wants money and not quality, thus all these “problems” we see for the last 20 months (at least).
