I really like what your team has created with this plugin. I’ve setup my SMTP server with Google Workspace API. However, all the emails that get sent using the plugin (I’ve tested this on multiple websites) have the website admin name and email address instead of the specified name and email address that can be set on the settings page.

In detail: On the settings page for Fluent SMTP where I can specify the Sender Settings “From Email” and “From Name” fields, I’ve entered our company office email address, and company name in the respective fields. I’ve also toggled the override check boxes for both fields to force the use of these fields in all emails being sent by the system. However, when an email is actually sent, my admin email address is used and the first half of the email address is used in the name field.

I’m assuming that this is not an issue with the plugin as this seems to be a critical oversight. What am I not doing right?

    Hello there,

If you are using the GMAIL or Outlook API connection, please note that the From Email and From Name will be automatically set to the email used to generate the API keys. To use a different email and name, you must generate a new API key using the desired email and set the account name to the desired name. For example, if you would like to use x@example.com as the From Email and ‘Email From X’ as the From Name, you should generate the API key using that email

You can configure other services like SendGrid/Amazon SES which support verifying a different From Email for a single API key.

    Thank you
