• When I checked my website today, it showed the “There has been a significant errror.” message. I updated and deleted some plugins and that quickly fixed it.

The issue is that I didn’t receive an email with a notification that something is wrong. As you can imagine, that is not good situation if it is not a site that you go to multiple times a day (I actually found out because a colleague called me).

I do have my email address saved in general settings and I checked junk in my mailbox. Nothing.

Is there something I am missing?

    Thank you

  • Hello @tichyvukoz

If your website’s default mail is not working like password reset mail , new account creation mail , or Forget password , Contact form7 related mails etc not working then i would suggest WP SMTP plugin . There are different Options for mail configurations anyone you can choose and detail document is also provided in it .

Thanks for your answer. The address works for password reset (even though it ended up in junk).

From the plugin description, it looks like it is intended primarily for emails that are sent to website visitors/subscribers. I don’t know whether that is sent the same way as a notice to admin address that the whole website is not available.

    Hello @tichyvukoz

This WP-SMTP plugin is for Sending Mail Securely , So it will not be in spam mail.

Sorry, but I don’t understand what you mean.

I have my address saved in settings and I did get the email, when I tested the “forgot password” button (I did not however get any message about the site error).

From your original suggestion, it looks like the suggested plugin is for instances when even password reset doesn’t work, which is not my case.
