When I change the default block templates to use a reusable block, so that when I want to create a new event it displays the blocks I want instead of the default event blocks, there seems to be an issue with the core WordPress blocks not loading in the front end.

For example, I have added a reusable block which consists of standard events blocks + image block and paragraph blocks.

in the front end, the event blocks I update shows correctly but the image is empty and doesn’t display. Same for the paragraphs.

Is there something I am missing?

    Hi @adetolah ,

For me to understand and learn more about your setup, could you provide the following version of the following?

    1. PHP
    2. WordPress
    3. The Events Calendar
    4. Theme and Version

Also, could you share more information as to the detailed steps on how you changed the default blocks to reusable blocks (i.e. were you using a 3rd party plugin)? Could you also share the direct URL to the page you’re having issues with? Please do not share any credentials, this is for us to follow the WordPress Forum Guidelines.

Looking forward to helping you with this one

    1. PHP 8.0
    2. WordPress version 6.2
    3. The Events calendar 6.0.11
    4. WorkScout 3.0.8

Here is what I did, I used the filter provided here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/change-add-new-event/ in my child theme to create a new template. I replaced all the blocks with a custom resusable block from a previously created event to avoid having to clear the default template blocks every time I want to create a new event.

Then I added the required information from the blocks. In the frontend, the core WordPress blocks (image and Paragraph) were empty, but the standard event blocks are outputted.

Is there an additional file I need to update to make this work?
Could you provide a step to actually use to update the default blocks when you click on add new event?

    Hi @adetolah

    Thanks for your response.

Just curious, is the preview for your image and paragraph blocks showing correctly from the admin page?

Moreover, does the issue persist when you only activate our plugins and use a default theme (e.g. twenty twenty theme)?

    Hi @adetolah

I’d like to followup on this. Are you still encountering the issue after trying the suggestions above?
