Hi @nickpetersres,
Seems like there’s some misconfiguration which is why you are facing this issue. Anyways, try this following process instead:
First of all, navigate to BetterDocs Settings and disable ‘Built-in Documentation’ option. Afterward, Assign your already created page ‘Support’ as the Docs page like I have done here as in this screenshot.
Make sure that you have already created the ‘Support’ page and have added ‘BetterDocs Category Grid’ or ‘BetterDocs Category Box’ of Essential Addons.
Please check back afterward. Your issue with the permalink should be resolved if you have followed the procedure mentioned above.
Let me know how it goes. Thank you!
Thanks Rafinkhan, appreciate the quick answer. When doing that, it seems like the urls of the individual articles from the search page are now correct, however all articles return a 404 error message.
For instance, when on the search page:
https://realestatespreadsheets.com/support/
I can see that the first article’s link is now https://realestatespreadsheets.com/support/how-to-fix-excel-crash-issue/ (so using “support” rather than “Docs”) but the page can’t be found.
Thanks again
I tried to uninstall the plugin to start fresh but it seems like the plugin keep in memory previous parameters so a fresh install does not change anything.
Right now, I’ve deactivated the Built-in Documentation Page and have renamed my custom page “Docs” (instead of “Support”). Now the single docs are properly linked to the search page. However on single doc pages, the breadcrumb is not correct, for instance:
https://realestatespreadsheets.com/docs/corrupted-workbook/
Home > docs > Support > Repair a corrupted workbook
Home is correct (website home page), docs is correct (linked to the custom search page), but Support goes to the page https://realestatespreadsheets.com/support/support/ which has not the custom template but more importantly does not have the updated path (still shows “website/support/support”)
Thanks again for the help
EDIT: Was able to change the path by changing the Custom Category Slug so that’s good Need to find out if I can customize the archive page with Elementor too

@nickpetersres,
Glad to know that your issue is now resolved. You can’t customize the category archive page with Elementor at the moment. But, we do have a plan to bring that in the future.
Thank you!
Noted! thanks a lot for all your help!
