Paradise is lost,

man vanquished;

the way, now guarded

by cherubim, after the fall.

Adam, sees their flaming swords,

as the angels guard the way

to the eitz chayim – tree of life.

Mankind stumbles in the darkness,

searches elsewhere for a way to return.

    1. G-d maintains His faithfulness to those who have been unfaithful towards Him.
      In Judaism, the path of return is called teshuvah, meaning “to turn” towards G-d.
      This basically amounts to what is otherwise referred to as repentance.
