JavaScript libraries reports

This extensive report shows many detailed statistics of the JavaScript library market.

Our technology market report is a detailed monthly report on the usage of JavaScript libraries on websites. The report comes via email as a PDF file and has over 7,000 pages with hierarchical bookmarks that make it easy to navigate. It covers this information:

  • List of all JavaScript libraries
Which JavaScript libraries are covered? Shows a list of all 50 JavaScript libraries monitored for our surveys, together with a short description and a link to the website.
  • Usage and Market Share Report
How popular is each of the JavaScript libraries? Shows percentages of usage and market shares for all JavaScript libraries that we monitor. Also shows how much these figures changed compared to the last month and to the last year.
  • Historical Trend Report
How did the popularity of the JavaScript libraries change over time? Shows tables and diagrams of historical trends of usage and market shares for all JavaScript libraries since January 2013. Please note, that we permanently keep adding more JavaScript libraries to our surveys, therefore not all of them cover the entire time frame.
  • Growth Rate Report
Which are the fastest growing JavaScript libraries? Shows the current growth rates in the usage of all JavaScript libraries both in absolute figures and percentages in the last month and in the last year.
  • New Site Usage Report
How popular is each of the JavaScript libraries among new sites? Shows percentages of usage and market shares for all JavaScript libraries among sites that were first visited in the last month, because they have only recently entered the top 10 million sites.
  • Top Site Usage Report
Which JavaScript libraries are primarily used by high traffic sites? Shows for each JavaScript library the share of top sites among all the sites that use that specific JavaScript library.
  • Page Speed Report
What is the average speed when loading pages of different JavaScript libraries? Shows for each of the 42 JavaScript libraries, for which we have at least 100 measurements, the average Time to First Byte (TTFB) and Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) measurements, obtained from Google's Chrome User Experience Report (CrUX).
  • Usage Pattern Report
On which part of websites are JavaScript libraries being used? Shows for each JavaScript library the percentages of websites that use it on the home page, on inner pages only, or on subdomains only.
  • Change Report
Which percentage of sites switched between JavaScript library? Shows for each JavaScript library the percentages of websites that recently switched to or from another JavaScript library as well as the top five JavaScript libraries that were involved in such changes.
  • List of up to 300 sites that switched between JavaScript libraries
Which popular sites changed their JavaScript library? Shows the 300 most popular sites that switched from one JavaScript library to another in the last month (if there are that many sites in a month). Also shows the involved JavaScript libraries.
  • List of sites that use specific JavaScript libraries
For each of the 50 JavaScript libraries: which popular sites use it, which sites started or stopped using it recently? Shows up to 50 popular sites that use a specific JavaScript library, and up to 50 sites that started using it in the last month, and up to 50 sites that stopped using it in the last month (if there are that many sites in a month).
  • List of top sites that use none of the JavaScript libraries
Which popular sites don't use any JavaScript library that we monitor? Shows the 300 most popular sites that do not use a JavaScript library.
  • Market Position Report
Where in the market diagram are the JavaScript libraries? Shows the market position of the 30 most popular JavaScript libraries in terms of popularity and usage by high traffic sites.
  • Ranking Breakdown Report
Which JavaScript libraries are popular among high traffic sites? Shows usage and market shares and ranks of all JavaScript libraries among websites within popularity ranges of the Alexa ranking, that is among the top 1 million sites, the top 100,000, the top 10,000 and the top 1,000 sites.
  • Multiple JavaScript Libraries Usage Report
How frequently are more than one JavaScript library used on one site, and which ones? Shows for each JavaScript library statistics on the usage together with other JavaScript libraries. We identify here usage on the same site, not necessarily on the same page.
  • Cross-Technologies Market Segmentation Reports
Which JavaScript libraries are particularly strong in which markets? A large set of reports evaluating the combined usage of two categories of web technologies. This shows, for example, the usage and market shares and ranks of all JavaScript libraries on any top level domain compared to the usage on all websites.

These detailed reports are available not only for top level domains, but also for the usage of JavaScript libraries broken down by
