Rebecca Colton, better known as Amanda the Adventurer, or simply Amanda, is the titular main antagonist of the indie horror Game Jam video game of the same name and set to return in the sequel.
She is presented to be the protagonist of a children's program named after her who is usually accompanied by her timid anthropomorphic sidekick, Wooly the Sheep. Wooly seems aware of her true nature and tries to warn Riley Park while making sure Amanda doesn't notice. As the player gets further into the game, Amanda appears to be an eldritch horror that has control over the show, though parts of the game also seem to suggest that she may not be as in control as it seems, appearing to also have the conscience of her voice actress and daughter of the show's creator, Rebecca Colton. Because of this and the fact that Rebecca was made to recite the names of demons by Hameln Entertainment, Amanda is suggested to be a gestalt entity consisting of Rebecca's tortured soul and the mysterious demon that now seemingly possesses her.
The character was voiced by Chelsea Lecompte in the pilot, and is currently voiced by Blair Greene-Osako, while Rebecca herself was portrayed by Lucy Brown.

Amanda's psyche appears to be controlled by two conflicting entities, an eldritch horror implied to have been summoned by Hameln employees, and the conscience of Rebecca. Both of these personalities seem to conflict with each other at a consistent rate, with one often overtaking the other.

Throughout most of the game, Amanda is shown to be a heartless psychopath that takes glee in killing people and animals, and regularly abuses her "friend" Wooly. In one of the endings of the game, she is excited at the thought of choosing between various surgical tools she could use to torture Wooly with, and gleefully explains what she intends to do with them. Amanda also appears to be very irritable, and will insist that the player makes them choose what she wants them to, using her ability to control the show to block off certain choices. She will even go as far as kill viewers of her show at the slightest provocation.
However, some events and the choices the player makes in the game, implied to be reminiscent of traumas that Rebecca herself had faced, seem to make Amanda behave differently than usual. For example, in an altered version of the game's second secret tape, the tape seemingly provokes Amanda to go to the butcher shop, where she will constantly tell the audience she doesn't want to go, and get progressively adamant of it, asking why she can't "stop it". In another instance, in the Petting Zoo tape, Amanda will meet up on a stray kitten and will ask the player to help take care of it. If they keep denying the request, Amanda gets progressively sadder, to the point where she cries in Rebecca's voice and her own voice concurrently.

Prior to the game's events, Rebecca was an orphaned child who was adopted by a man named Sam Colton. Sam also elaborates that prior to the adoption, she had "went through a lot", implying she had lived a miserable life before. Following the adoption, Sam was inspired to create Amanda the Adventurer, citing Rebecca's kindness and optimistic outlook on the world, and her joys in exploring it, as the primary inspirations for Amanda's character.
With the unexpected popularity of Sam's show growing, many networks, including the Hameln Entertainment company, started to become interested in working with him. The company approached Sam, proposing to turn his show, which started as a live-action series, into a cartoon.
The company ended up proving themselves to be a group of greedy Satanists who ended up exploiting the young Rebecca and ended up going against Sam’s will and trying to use Rebecca. The Director would force Rebecca to recite demonic chants (including Bael, Paimon and Balaam) which would cause her to hear a "man in the headphones", presumably the entity that possesses her.

Kate Park bequeaths her home to her godchild, Riley, who discovers the tape of Amanda the Adventurer's kitchen episode in the attic named “In The Kitchen”. Riley watches the tape, and subsequently discovers more tapes that become disturbing as Amanda and Wooly appear to be increasingly distressed, but also provide hidden clues to find more tapes in the attic. Sufficiently provoking Amanda will usually result in her monster form entering the attic and killing Riley. In the episode “In Your Neighborhood”, where Amanda and Wooly are buying a card and going to the post office to mail it to Amanda's friend, who is revealed to be Aunt Kate.
In “Uh Oh Accidents!”, after Wooly tries to warn the viewer about something, Amanda appears and wounds Wooly's knee, before lying to the viewer and saying he accidentally tripped, forcing them to go to the doctor's office. In the episode “What's A Family?” Amanda and Wooly next travel to a petting zoo, where Amanda causes Wooly to lose his anthropomorphic abilities, much to his horror, and be unable to speak or stand on his hind legs. Amanda then sees a lone cat and agitatedly asks if Riley will help the lonely kitty, killing them if they answer no. Riley obtains a distorted version of “In Your Neighborhood” which Amanda becomes terrified when the background changes against her will, forcing Wooly and her to go to the butcher's shop. Amanda destroys the buildings, screaming at the viewers to let her leave, before Wooly calms her down and brings her back to script.
“Uh Oh Accidents!” also becomes distorted when Wooly again tries to warn the viewer, only for Amanda to appear and insist that something is wrong with Wooly's brain. Amanda decides to “play doctor” and forces Wooly to drink an anesthetic before strapping him to a gurney and brutally slicing his throat with surgical equipment. The final tape opens with Wooly erased from the logo and Amanda explaining directly to Riley that, because they are friends, she feels comfortable sharing secrets with her. If Riley agrees to hear her secret, Amanda will explain that her secret is that “she's out there… somewhere,” and the TV will begin violently shaking and glitching until Riley throws a brick through the screen, destroying it. If Riley disagrees to hear her secret, the TV will turn off and the room will be empty, excluding a bloody note telling her to leave, with the trapdoor open.
A series of VHS tapes reveal that the show was produced with a low budget and locally broadcast in a small town by a man named Sam Colton, who based Amanda's character after his adoptive daughter Rebecca. Riley's aunt Kate was very supportive of the project, and hosted read-a-longs at the local library. Sam went missing and Kate died while investigating the disappearances of several local children who watched the show mysteriously went missing shortly after Sam received an offer to expand Amanda's franchise, and the expansion presumably continued using Rebecca to voice Amanda despite Sam's previous objections.

In her human form, Amanda appears as a dark-skinned girl with afro puffs. She wears a yellow t-shirt with cyan pants, and matching yellow shoes with cyan laces and purple socks.
Monster Form[]
In her monster form, she loses her humanoid figure and becomes a monster with irregular sharp teeth and what appears to be multiple eyes on her face, though they may be some sort of fungus. Her overall body is now grey and looks starved, with her ribs and pelvis prominent through her skin. Her fingers are really long and skeletal and her legs are bent outwards.

- Amanda is largely a parody of Dora from Dora the Explorer, sharing both an extremely similar alias/profession, and a mammalian partner.
- Because of this, the two have appeared in various amounts of fanart together and are often depicted either as rivals or a duo.
- It has been speculated by fans that the demon possessing Amanda the adventurer is Balam. During Rebecca’s interrogation, she names three demons, one of them being him, and this one matches the characteristics of Amanda. Balaam in mythology was a demon who could manipulate pocket realms and used children as sacrifices.
- Amanda is left-handed. This is shown when she wields the knife in the "In the Kitchen" tape or when she's drawing in the "Keep a Secret?" tape.
- Before being adopted by Sam, who described Rebecca has having a rough life prior, Rebecca's previous mother is implied to have been a cannibal. This is hinted at in the Petting Zoo tape, where Amanda is observing the chickens. There, Amanda points out how "some mommies eat their babies", implying that Rebecca might have witnessed her mother eating one of her siblings. Further giving credence to this is how Amanda suspiciously asks "how they know" if the player chooses to call the rooster "Sam" or "Colton". Additionally, much of Amanda's triggers seem to revolve primarily around meat, as she is visibly distraught when she is forced to go to the butcher shop in the altered version of episode 2 to the point that she destroys all the other buildings.
