There are two ways to make a Molotov in Project Zomboid. The first is to combine a bottle of bourbon with ripped sheets. The second is to combine an empty bottle that is made of glass (plastic won’t do), a bottle of gasoline or a gas can, and ripped sheets. To recap, your material requirements are:

  • A bottle of bourbon
  • Ripped sheets

OR

  • An empty glass bottle
  • Bottle of gasoline or a gas can
  • Ripped sheets

Simply right-click on any of the items needed, and you should see the prompt shown in the above screenshot. Make that Molotov and you, too, can accidentally set your friends or yourself on fire while trying to burn those zombies.

But wait, how do you actually use it?

For this step, you’ll need your Molotov and a lighter. Equip the Molotov in primary (right-click and select “equip primary”), and equip the lighter as your secondary. Now hit ctrl and the left mouse button to throw it.

But… do be careful where you throw it.

And that’s it, go forth and set the world ablaze! Just don’t burn down houses before you loot them, maybe?
