We’re thrilled to announce that our team (alongside our data specialist partners at Register Dynamics) delivering a replacement for the StatsWales data publishing platform have passed their Alpha service assessment! It was our first assessment against the Welsh Digital Service Standard with the Centre for Digital Public Services / Canolfan Gwasanaethau Cyhoeddus Digidol, and the team are thrilled to be recognised for delivering quality services specifically for Wales. We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone we’ve been working closely with, including our colleagues across the Welsh government, stakeholders across the Welsh data landscape and all the user research participants across Wales, who’ve contributed their insight and experience into this project. Not long now until Private Beta! #DigitalTransformation #WelshGovernment

We're pleased the new government recognises that Britain won't fully benefit from technology without "government leading by example" and acting "as a leader and partner" across government and industry. Our mission to help deliver high quality public sector digital services and improve citizens experiences isn't possible without strong partnership with, and leadership within, Government. Having spent the last couple of years delivering projects with local government, Aspasia Dellaporta and Michael Thomas are excited to be attending tomorrow's Local Public Services Innovation Summit hosted by techUK. It’ll be a great opportunity to learn even more about how we can work together to create more resilient and productive local public services, as well as share our own experiences in doing so. We'll hope to see you there! https://lnkd.in/eKS76p28. #LocalGovernment #GovTech #TechUK

Marvell Consulting reposted this
I’ve recently been thoroughly enjoying Kate Tarling's book, "The Service Organisation" – an essential guide of how to deliver successful services. I was subsequently thrilled to find it included a case study of a project delivered by our team at Marvell Consulting , showcasing how measuring service performance can support successful delivery. Kudos to the original blog authors Aspasia Dellaporta, Nadia Huq and Benjamin Stevens! I'm only halfway through the book, and can already highly recommend it. If you haven't read it yet, it's definitely worth picking up. Thanks very much Edwina O'Hart, we're glad you enjoyed it! We'll look forward to sharing our progress with everyone again, in a couple of weeks.
Really good to attend Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government and Marvell Consulting show and tell about the work they are doing to improve Stats Wales. Great to see how others run their show and tells and learn from them. They covered: - a lovely explanation of what a show and tell is (the key being transparency) - an explanation of what 'alpha' is (it's one of the key phases of Agile - the stage where you are ready to experiment and start building prototypes of the product) - an overview of what they've been up to over the last two weeks (including a mention of the meeting with us at the Centre for Digital Public Services / Canolfan Gwasanaethau Cyhoeddus Digidol (where we spoke about the Digital Service Standards for Wales) - a run down of the user research and technical work they've been doing - they 'showed the thing' they are starting to build. It's currently using the gov.uk design system (which is open source), but will be using gov.wales design standards shortly (Global Experience Language (GEL) guidance to make sure that gov.wales products are consistently designed) - shared their product vision (what they're all working towards) and the product road map (the outcomes they are working to achieve now, next and later). Interesting that the roadmap is outcomes not output focussed. Why? Outcomes less likely to change where as the outputs might - based on user research. It also gives the development team more scope to deliver the outcomes - took questions from the 'virtual' floor. The will be running show and tells every two weeks and also sending out a regular comms about the project - get in touch with them if you want to sign up. Da iawn - a really good example of 'working in the open' and sharing this info with the 90 people on the call!

Here’s another great update from the team that Aspasia Dellaporta has been working with – Helping them to understand the users by creating a ‘segmentation model’ which categorises householder users by their knowledge and experience of the Building Control process and how engaged they were with their building works. #LocalDigitalFund #localgov https://lnkd.in/ete_vuAf
