The ADHD Foundation Neurodiversity Charity works in partnership with employers, individuals, families, doctors, teachers and other agencies to improving emotional well being, educational attainment, economic independence and life chances through better understanding and self management of Neurodiversity in ADHD, ASC and related learning differences such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, Irlen’s Syndrome, dyscalculia and Tourette’s Syndrome. We also provide training for Businesses, Health & Education services Teachers, Social Care and other professionals, raising awareness to bring about positive change and inclusion in mental health, education and employment. Since 2017, the ADHD Foundation have coordinated multiple Umbrella Project art installations, which celebrates the gifts, talents and employability of those who are neurodiverse. It is part of a wider education project to celebrate neurodiversity, raise awareness and challenge stigma and discrimination. The umbrellas celebrate the unique gifts of every neurodiverse individual. In 2019, participating schools across the UK have installed the Umbrella Art display of their own. In Merseyside, Salford, Manchester and Heathrow, London, with the support of local councils and businesses, they have joined together in a dynamic project to ensure that our cities are ‘child friendly’ and places of opportunity for every child to be happy, healthy and achieve their potential.

BIG NEWS! - Tomorrow evening I'll be taking over Virgin Radio Pride to present the biggest programming moment ADHD has ever witnessed on UK radio. Two hours of remarkable deep-dive content will shine the light on the realities of the condition, while removing the stigmas and misconceptions. It's time to hear the TRUTH. At 6pm, we hear an hour long emotional documentary as I pursue my own diagnosis while talking to some incredible people about their own journeys. The ups, the downs, the beauty, the pain. But ultimately, hearing the stories from those who haven't let their ADHD overwhelm them. They've harnessed it, live with it, and thrived because of it. At 7pm, a fireside chat re-visiting how ADHD has changed over the last 12 months since the initial documentary was created. Joined by 4 remarkable ADHD'ers and friends, we tackle the questions that have arisen since I got my diagnosis, alongside the major milestones that have taken place over 2024 to give you, the people, a better understanding of exactly what, why and how ADHD is. We are thrilled to announce we are partnering with Watford Town Centre BID on their “Neurodiversity Umbrella Project”, raising awareness & celebrating all the different minds we have in our community. The uplifting art installation will adorn Queen’s Road from 27 July – 27 September 2024 and it will help to raise awareness and understanding of neurodiversity. Colourful umbrellas are strung together overhead with each display designed to represent the one in five of us who have a neurodevelopmental condition, such as ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia or Tourette’s syndrome. On Saturday 27 July from 10am, Watford Town Centre BID have organised for stilt walkers and professional dancers with colourful umbrellas to provide entertainment and performances on Queen’s Road, where the art installation will be officially opened to the public during a 45-minute event. Speakers from the local community will also be in attendance to mark the launch date including our CEO, Debbie Wood!
