Seymour Reborn Mod

Play alongside Seymour as he wards off visions of the future and attempts to avoid his own corruption. Unlock Seymour as a playable character in Besaid, replacing Yuna as the party's summoner. He is fully voice acted and fully animated. Progress through his sphere grid and unlock all the game's content as you normally would. Experience Yuna's journey in a radically different way.

Download
1. Download "Seymour Reborn.rar" from here.[drive.google.com]
(100.3MB) (Updated: 04/08/24) (Version: 1.0 Release)
  • You may have to click "Download Anyway" due to the file size

2. Unzip/Extract the "Seymour Reborn" Folder to anywhere convenient


3. Inside the "Seymour Reborn" Folder, is the "Start Here" Folder, inside that folder, launch the "Seymour Reborn Installer"
  • The installer will automatically detect the location of your FFX files and modify them
  • If your files are in a strange location, you may have to navigate to your FFX_Data file, which is normally located at C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY FFX&FFX-2 HD Remaster\data\FFX_Data.vbf

If you encounter Windows warnings

Click "Download Anyway"

Click "Keep"

Click "More info", then "Run Anyway"

Play
1. Launch Seymour Reborn as Administrator (keep this open during all your play sessions)
2. Launch Final Fantasy X HD Remastered
3. Play FFX!



Be sure to open the mod each time you come back to the game. You may add or remove the mod at anytime without consequence. You can start a new file or continue with your old one.
Additional Information
Gameplay
  • Seymour replaces Yuna only in combat and menus
  • All cutscenes, dialogue, and lore is unchanged
  • Yuna will remain the overworld character in Luca and Via Purifico
  • Seymour will indeed fight alongside and against himself
  • Seymour wears equipped rings as toe-rings
  • Forgetting to run the installer the first time, or forgetting to launch Seymour Reborn each play session will simply have elements of Yuna still present
Quality of Life
  • All of your settings are kept after the mod is closed, no need to reselect or move anything
  • The mod will automatically close when you are finished a play session
  • You may launch Seymour Reborn without FFX launched
  • The mod minimizes to the System Tray to avoid cluttering your screen, don't worry it's still running. Click its icon to bring the window back into view
Compatibility
  • If you use both Seymour Reborn and Sin Reborn and the files are kept in the same folder, opening Seymour Reborn will automatically open Sin Reborn


  • Seymour's portraits and voice acting are only available when English is the selected language; you may still play as Seymour using other languages.
  • Works with most other FFX mods
  • Incompatible with VBF injectors
Uninstall
1. Inside the "Start Here" folder, launch Seymour Reborn Uninstaller.
  • The Uninstaller will automatically detect the location of your FFX files and modify them
  • If your files are in a strange location, you may have to navigate to your FFX_Data file, which is normally located at C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY FFX&FFX-2 HD Remaster\data\FFX_Data.vbf
2. You are safe to delete Seymour Reborn and play FFX unmodded.
  • This mod does not change anything related to your save file, it is impossible for you to lose any progression or data
  • A steam reinstall of FFX reverts all mod changes and does not effect your saves, it is a slower version of the Uninstaller

I can’t seem to be able to instal it, after selecting my FFX_Data File it ask me to select the Seymour Reborn.auna file but mine is a Seymour Reborn.Vale file… how do I fix this ?

Tried to install this five times and even hired someone to help. Never worked. Baaj for the first time? Nope. Besaid? Nope. Operation Mi'ihen? Nada.

Update: I've tried the mod and it's great! Yuna's sounds and voices are still there during battle, the aeons work fine but still retain original animations. Lovely mod, team villain all the way! :CutieGirlStick:

Anyways, good mod. I plan on trying this out today and ACTUALLY leaving a REAL review unlike everyone else asking for Kimhari replacement or shaming it. 90% of FFX players are grown adults who played it before in their youth or love to replay. If you've played it 2-3 times already, there is no reason to moan about the yuna change. Sure, it ruins the atmosphere story wise, but nothing is different. I remember in the story seymour spoiled the whole ending & storyline and the characters were too dumb to realize it. he called auron out at the mansion in guadosalm and nobody stopped to put two & two together to realize he was saying auron was dead.

he's been cool with me since then, besides he is the weakest boss of them all so it's not like y'all had to power grind him or something.

@MeowKitty Also: What does Seymour's morality and villain status have to do with play ability? Squall is an emotionally devoid immature brooding lead with 0 personality and thinks shutting people out instead of either expressing his problems or just saying "hey, I have issues, I just want to do our job here in the school and get it over with without friendship" to his party members. I use squall as an example cause a lot of people like him despite the fact if you take all the glitz away from the story, the gunsword and everything else, he's just as bleak as Seymour and you need flashbacks or others commentary to lift his character up to explain why he's dull in the first place. Seymour replaces Yuna cause they are both usings staffs & are of the summoner job type.

Not everyone plays FFX strictly for nostalgia .
