Larger-than-life characters clash in epic lightsaber battles that will appeal to young readers and to the young Star Wars fan in all of us! Ten acclaimed authors imagine new tales for some of the most iconic Star Wars characters ever, from Luke Skywalker to Darth Vader, from Obi-Wan Kenobi to Darth Maul, and beyond, complete with beautiful spot illustrations[2]

Development[]

Stories of Jedi and Sith was originally going to be a High Republic Era-focused anthology before shifting[5] to focus on numerous eras.[6] Before its change in focus, author Tessa Gratton hoped to write a story about Marchion Ro and had three pitches prepared about his teenage years. After the shift, Gratton prepared to write a story about a light side of the Force-aligned character until learning, via her editor, that the anthology still needed a Sith-focused storyline. Having been scared of Darth Sidious since she was three and hoping to give Sidious and Yoda's Duel in the Galactic Senate a formal resolution, she wrote "Masters."[5]
