Slate’s Mistakes for the Week of April 15

Due to an editing error, an April 16 Jurisprudence misstated that two of the seven Trump jurors were born outside the U.S. Only one was not born in the U.S.

In an April 13 Jurisprudence, Shirin Ali misstated when Adeel Mangi served as an advisory board member for the Center for Security, Race and Rights. It was from 2019–23. Ali also misstated that the center organized a Sept. 11 anniversary event in 2021. The event was hosted by the People’s Forum, and CSRR was a co-sponsor.

In an April 12 Music, Bradford William Davis identified the song “Control” as Jay Electronica’s. Although Jay Electronica did feature on the track, the lead artist was Big Sean.

In an April 11 Television, Nadira Goffe misstated that comedian Jerrod Carmichael says he enjoys slave play during his sexual encounters, specifically with his boyfriend. In the relevant episode, Carmichael brings up the topic of race play during sexual encounters and makes a separate joke about his boyfriend and their relationship.
