An intersection is where two or more roads come together. Intersections are also known as junctions. At an intersection, there can be stop signs on one or both sides of the intersection. There can also be a traffic light.

Kinds of intersections

There are two major types of intersections.

3-way intersection
Also called a T intersection, 3-way intersections make a T-like shape.
4-way intersection
4-way intersections make a cross- or +-like shape.
