According to the UN, desertification, land degradation, and drought are among the most pressing environmental challenges of our time, with up to 40% of all land area worldwide already considered degraded. On UN World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought, we spotlight our 20-acre constructed wetlands, which naturally treat wastewater. This water then nourishes trees and shrubs at our 1 million sq m Landscape Nursery, the largest in the region. But that’s not all. Our Mangrove and Landscape Nurseries are also helping to restore habitats, sequester carbon, and combat desertification with an array of mangroves and native plants. These remarkable projects are paving the way toward a more sustainable future #ForPeopleAndPlanet #United4Land

On #WorldSeaTurtleDay, we celebrate the incredible journey of Eidah, a Hawksbill sea turtle rescued by our Environmental Operations and Marine Enhancement team in Al Wajh Lagoon. Suffering from severe buoyancy issues during Eid al-Fitr, she was taken to our Environmental Protection and Rehabilitation (EPR) Department where, through meticulous care and carefully managed treatment, Eidah regained her strength and made a full recovery. She was then released back into the Red Sea, her progress monitored with titanium flipper tags. Eidah is just one of six sea turtles that we have rescued in recent years, underlining our commitment to turtle conservation and regeneration. Join us in celebrating Eidah’s rescue and recovery and the success of our environmental efforts #ForPeopleAndPlanet Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dPFtm5h2
