How To Get Luna’s Howl in Destiny 2

Luna’s Howl has always been one of the most iconic weapons in Destiny 2. This 140 RPM, precision frame Hand Cannon packs a punch, and while it may no longer be as revered as it once was, it’s still a weapon that’s deserving of a spot in your arsenal.

But firstly, how do you unlock it? Similar to all the other BRAVE weapons, the steps are quite the same. Here’s how to unlock Luna’s Howl in Destiny 2:

  • Complete Arcite’s BRAVE Weapon Quest (specifically related to Luna’s Howl).
  • Attune Luna’s Howl in the Hall of Champions.
  • Start farming Onslaught activities where you’ll find your rewards in the chests at the end.

Upon the completion of Arcite’s Luna’s Howl weapon quest, you will receive a “Shiny” Luna’s Howl with a set of curated perks that are fixed for all players. However, once the weapon has been attuned, the drop rate will increase by 50% across all Onslaught activities, allowing you to farm rolls more quickly.

Luna’s Howl PvP God Roll in Destiny 2

With the nerf of Magnificent Howl, Luna’s Howl is not the beast it once used to be, a similar trend that can be observed in the majority of the reprised BRAVE weapons. However, this doesn’t mean the weapon is lacking in anyway. With the right combination of perks, Luna’s Howl can still be a strong contender in both PvP and PvE.

Here’s our pick for the best PvP Luna’s Howl roll:

  • Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
  • Perk 1: Eye of the Storm/Slideshot
  • Perk 2: Precision Instrument/Opening Shot
  • Masterwork: Range

This roll is highly focused on accuracy and range. Especially in a 3v3 environment (competitive, Trials of Osiris), these perks provide a perfect combination of both. Hammer-Forged gives the weapon a decent range buff, Eye of the Storm and Slideshot both provide accuracy bonuses, Precision Instrument buffs your damage and increases your chances for an easy 3-tap kill, and Opening Shot allows your first shot to be as accurate as possible.

Luna’s Howl PvE God Roll in Destiny 2

In PvE scenarios, Luna’s Howl could serve as a substitute for Zaouli’s Bane or Sunshot due to its beneficial Solar perks. However, its absence of Explosive Payload puts it at a slight disadvantage. Nevertheless, Mag Howl might offer some utility when combined with Lucky Pants, although this synergy is more specialized in nature

Here’s our pick for the best PvE Luna’s Howl roll:

  • Barrel: Fluted Barrel
  • Magazine: Flared Magwell
  • Perk 1: Heal Clip/Enlightened Action
  • Perk 2: Incandescent/Desperate Measures
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed

Solar Hand Cannons have been ruling PvE as of recent. As a result, this roll offers a sufficient substitute with perks such as Incandescent. Heal Clip in the perk one slot offers increased chances of survivability, and Desperate Measures in the perk two slot gives you a raw damage buff if you’re unable to find a Incandescent roll.
