While [Nikana] heavy attacks are significantly better than light attacks, the second heavy attack in sequence is not better than the first one, unlike with Two-Handed Nikanas. This means we can run a hybrid combo build, focused around slash and critical chance, and building Tennokai critical chance / damage. This build allows you to stay at 12x combo while frequently using heavy attacks with a guaranteed slash proc and lots of critical chance / damage.
