Trigger Inc. (株式会社トリガー, Kabushiki kaisha Torigā), also known as Studio Trigger, is a Japanese animation studio founded by Hiroyuki Imaishi and Masahiko Ōtsuka in 2011.

History[]

Studio Trigger was founded by former Gainax employees, Hiroyuki Imaishi and Masahiko Ōtsuka, after Hiroyuki's Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann became a great success. The studio name and official website was revealed in October 2011.

Gurren Lagann's style can be found in all Studio Trigger's works, which resulted in the studio being seen as a successor to Gainax. Their first works are the Little Witch Academia short movie and Kill la Kill television series.
