Discussion on using the more established term of ‘tickets’ for GitHub cards going forward now that there has been some time to transition from the team using cards on TrelloTrello Project management system using the concepts of boards and cards to organize tasks in a sane way. This is what the make.wordpress.com/marketing team uses for example: https://trello.com/b/8UGHVBu8/wp-marketing.. Slack thread

GitHub tickets check-in (Slack thread):-

We will be bringing GitHub cards to this meeting for a regular status check-in. These are also shared on the GitHub planning card for each week. This week, can we can move anything further in these cards.

  • WordPress Planet update request (#GitHub ticket 24) – is anyone aware of an update on this or whether it needs to go back to another team? Meeting update: it has a Google TagTag Tag is one of the pre-defined taxonomies in WordPress. Users can add tags to their WordPress posts along with categories. However, while a category may cover a broad range of topics, tags are smaller in scope and focused to specific topics. Think of them as keywords used for topics discussed in a particular post. Manager on it. A list of inactive sources has been compiled, which needs reviewing and then the information updating. New entries for the list can email Matt. @rmartinezduque and @dansoschin are to look into this ticket.
  • Could this be one of the Five for the Future email template (#GitHub ticket 18) be a task for WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. Meeting update: this was felt to be a good idea and will be explored further. The community team has been doing some work on Five for the Future, and the reference to the last post has been added to the GitHub card. No other updates from anyone else in marketing on this.

Our GitHub issue details how you can help share and amplify WordPress news on social media. You will also find a list of the primary WordPress.org social accounts there. You can get started participating in our online conversations and/or contributing content to one of our active campaigns.

WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ saw really good performances across all social networks including a 9.3% increase in net new followers and a total of 1,491 new followers over the last week. We tested foreign language posts this week on the Learn campaign which ended up being our 2nd highest performing post based on engagement numbers. In addition, many of our campaigns including the WP 6.0 features campaign, and the previously mentioned Learn campaign (2x) scored high marks in some of our best examples throughout the week.

Here is a look at some of the performance numbers for the last week:

  • Impressions: 230,098
  • Engagements: 5,266
  • Link clicks: 1,503
  • Messages received: 23

In reply to a question to how best the team can find out more about the different campaigns, @bjmcsherry shared: the GitHub ticket 7, shows the project managers for campaigns being worked on. If there are particular campaigns the Marketing team meeting is interested in results for, any of them will be able to help.
