📉 Traditional DLP solutions often fall short due to inaccurate data classification. They rely on basic pattern-matching, which leads to false positives and ineffective risk analysis. But here’s the good news: There’s a better way💡 By integrating Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) with your DLP, you can elevate your security strategy. Sentra’s DSPM not only classifies sensitive data across all platforms (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) but also integrates smoothly with your DLP, providing you with extensive context about the file and its sensitivity. Swipe through to discover 5 reasons why traditional DLP falls short and how DSPM can change the game!👇

Sentra CTO and co-founder Ron Reiter shares his analysis of the ongoing Microsoft issues caused by a Crowdstrike update. This is clearly of the most serious cybersecurity events in recent years, and we’ll continue to share updates and analysis as more details emerge.
Current Events in Cybersecurity: CrowdStrike, one of the leading cybersecurity companies, recently released an update to Windows servers globally. Unfortunately, this update has caused servers to enter a "crash loop," resulting in the infamous Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). Typically, such updates are deployed gradually through a "rolling update" mechanism to ensure there are no issues. However, CrowdStrike’s agents automatically update without user consent for security and maintenance purposes. This time, the problematic update rolled out rapidly, causing many Windows servers to fail. These servers support critical infrastructure for various sectors, including banking, airlines, hospitals, and logistics. As a result, many companies faced significant disruptions today (even a friend of mine had to deplane this morning due to the issue). What are the short-term and long-term implications? The short-term impact remains uncertain as recovery from such failures can be challenging. Fixing these issues may take days or weeks since downed servers cannot receive automated updates and must be manually repaired. This can lead to significant, worldwide service disruptions. Long-term, the implications could be even more profound. This incident highlights the vulnerability of our interconnected systems. Regulators and insurance companies may impose new requirements on companies to prevent similar incidents in the future. What about the cybersecurity ecosystem? As Uncle Ben said, "With great power comes great responsibility." We must remember our duty to not only protect companies but to do so safely and reliably. Need Support? The team at Sentra is happy to help anyone with questions or support regarding this incident in any way possible.
