🔎 Isolate the bug

  • I have confirmed this occurs in the most recent version of WordPress, WooCommerce, and Facebook for WooCommerce.
  • I have confirmed this occurs when only WooCommerce and Facebook for WooCommerce are active and when using a default WordPress or WooCommerce theme.

✍️ Describe the bug

Product image thumbnails are showing correctly in Facebook catalog list view but are blank when the product is viewed in the catalog. The blank image placeholder is also being used in ads and on Facebook shop. Surprisingly, the image URL on the Facebook catalog links correctly to the product image on the site but the image preview in the catalog returns a blank image placeholder.

🚶‍♀️ Steps to reproduce

  1. Setup Facebook for WooCommerce or use an existing setup
  2. Publish a new product in store
  3. Locate the product in the Facebook catalog and click on it
  4. Notice the image preview shows a blank image

✔️ Expected behavior

Product image preview should load the set image and not return a blank placeholder image from Facebook.

Just an internal note that this was tested once and unable to be reproduced. We should try again (p1679518525929839-slack-CK365S85V).
