Update for 6.5

General

  • Make sure all screenshots are relevant to the latest version
  • Make sure videos, if any, are up to date
  • Add ALT tags for the images
  • Make sure the headings are in sentence case
  • Convert all reusable blocks to a ‘regular block’.
  • Update the changelog at the end of the article

Set site icon in General settings

WordPress version 6.5(add link) moved the site icon to the General Settings.

Follow the steps below to set Site Icon from General settings.

  1. Prepare the image file and upload to media library. (It must be square, having a height and width of at least 512 px.)
  2. Navigate to General Settings
  3. Click Choose a Site icon.
  4. Select image file that you prepared in the previous step.

This is review comments.

  • I checked the General Settings on the 6.5 release version and confirmed that it has the same output with 6.5-RC2.
  • We should put this article as the first section "WordPress Version 6.5 or later" , and current top section should be changed to "WordPress Version 4.3 to 6.4"
  • We may remove ancient statement and sections by this updates and current features.
    • (2nd paragraph) A favicon is typically a graphic 16 x 16 pixels square, and is saved as
    • favicon.ico in the root directory of your server.
