Girl Effect has been a sector leader in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) for years, leveraging this technology to create new, custom solutions specific to girls’ experiences.

We currently have three award-winning sexual health chatbots (Big Sis, Bol Behen, WAZZII) that are designed to equip adolescent girls and young women with accurate information about their health and to connect them with trusted local service providers. These chatbots are built using AI and ML on a database of mix-coded languages to answer questions and speak in terms girls use and understand.

This is transforming local health ecosystems and revolutionizing how adolescent girls and young women access healthcare.

As we continue to explore this technology, we want to share all that we’ve learned to help others develop innovative AI solutions that positively impact young people.
