Four years ago I embarked on a journey of a lifetime on Semester at Sea. I was 21 then, I never imagined to grow as much as I did on that voyage. I learned so much about the world, about myself and what I could handle. It was my dream to explore the world, and there I was- studying abroad on a ship for almost four months. Time really does fly, last weekend I was lucky enough to revisit the MV Explorer in San Diego – but was saddened to hear the news that the program was selling the ship. How could they sell my ocean home? It truly felt like home, I miss the ship but most of all I miss all of my friends from that voyage. I created lasting friendships and so many fun memories.
The MV Explorer is currently on its final spring voyage ever as a part of the Semester at Sea program. So to honor the voyage, I have decided to retrace my spring 2011 voyage; each week I will be featuring each country with more content, favorite photos and more tips from each country. This week I will start with Dominica and the Bahamas.
Spring 2011 voyage docked at the Bahamas, Dominica, Brazil, Ghana, South Africa, Mauritius, India, Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan.
