Everyone has them, yet no one sticks by them. That was the case of this past year, although to be honest I didn’t quite really create a list. I didn’t believe in them, why make them when I KNOW that I would not see them through. However, at the risk of sounding like Bridget Jones, I have decided to create a New Year’s resolution list and try to see them throughout by the year’s end.
2009 was a doozy of a year. A roller coaster ride to be sure; one that I am glad is over. So many twists and turns and loops. I have met wonderful new friends and lost some. I even started a Twitter account, something I was apprehensive of doing. Yet, I love it; I’ve met so many wonderful fellow travelers. They are an awesome bunch of people. I also experienced new things this year, such as White Water Rafting, Sailing; I even visited Pike’s Place in Seattle, Washington. However, I am sensing that 2010 will be a better year. Yes. It is even easier to say. Twenty Ten. So, I have compiled a short list (five resolutions) but with a twist. I will attach a particular goal alongside it. Hope this inspires you to create a list for yourself.
1.Stay Fit: Train for climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro for January 2011. Yes, I know it’s not really for 2010, but the training part is. However, I have chosen January 2011 because it will happen to fall on my birthday.
2.Education: Study abroad at some point in 2010.
3.Immerse myself in Culture: Perhaps a trip to China? Thailand? Not yet decided. Any recommendations will do.
4.Learn Something New: Pardon my French. I think I want to get back into my roots, and learn the language of my ancestors. Perhaps start off small, by picking up the book “French in 10 minutes a day”.
5.Help Others: Volunteer, help other underprivileged deaf children in a foreign country.
I will keep you updated on my progress throughout the year,‘til then HAPPY NEW YEARS! May the New Year bring abundance of happiness and of course a lot of new exciting travel experiences.

For Learning A new language i would recommend trying Rosetta stone.
As far as travels go, i would choose Greece for summer….or Japan during the cherry blossom season 🙂
Happy Travels!
My favorite is the “study abroad” resolution. You know I’m biased towards Semester At Sea- hope you are able to do it!
Great resolutions!
All the things you listed are very possible for 2010. Great resolution and good luck! =)
Oh, I noticed the comment left by another and yes, Japan is an awesome country to visit I have to add… =) I also heard Italy is beyond awesome and the food is incredible.
