Salt Creek Township is one of eleven townships in Monroe County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 1,513 and it contained 822 housing units.[3]

History

Salt Creek Township was established in 1825. It was named from a salt spring which was the center of an early salt manufacturing industry.[4][5]

Geography

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 29.78 square miles (77.1 km2), of which 26.68 square miles (69.1 km2) (or 89.59%) is land and 3.1 square miles (8.0 km2) (or 10.41%) is water.[3]
