The phrase "Eternal September" is used on usenet to refer to the period from september 1995 onward. Every year in september there were several new students who posted on usenet, and needed to be taught proper netiquette. In 1995 AOL users gained the ability to access usenet, and since that time the influx of newbies has not stopped.
