IntelliCAD is open-source CAD-software, that looks a lot like AutoCAD and of which anyone can make his own version. The IntelliCAD Technology Corporation controls the developments and to be able to use the IntelliCAD sourcecode a company has to become a member. Among others there are members like Bricscad, Cadian, Cadopia en ZwCAD that create their own CAD-software. The IntelliCAD Technology Corporation has over 30 members.

There is special attention for the exchange of drawings and additional software between IntelliCAD and AutoCAD:

  • support of the DWG file format in cooperation with the Open Design Alliance
  • support of the AutoLISP macro language
  • new: developing method DRX, comparable to AutoCAD's ARX.
