Fact or Opinion: "... used it as a weapon…"

[edit]

In addition, Novell was seeing its NetWare installed base steadily eroding in favor of Microsoft-based networks; as part of a multi-faceted approach to battling Microsoft, they had turned to Unix as a weapon, having recently formed a Unix-related partnership with AT&T known as Univel.

This is claiming intent of involved parties, and needs to be backed by actual statements by these parties or an expert source on the subject matter.

It's not the only part of the article that is very heavy on opinion – for example, what the most important lasting effect of any organization is can definitely be said in an encyclopedia, but it requires consent among historians/subject experts, in other words, it needs somewhat authorative sources. --Marcusmueller ettus (talk) 13:47, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
