MODIS active fire records used in analysis of extreme wildfires
Data are from NASA's Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) sensors. Locations (latitude and longitude) identify active wildfires based on thermal anomalies. Each fire observation is accompanied by a measure of confidence and fire radiative power (FRP; megawatts). "sat" denotes whether data are from the Terra (T) or Aqua (A) satellites. Data are broken into monthly files.
