Akismet is a popular spam filtering service that is used to protect websites and online platforms from unwanted or malicious content, particularly in the form of comment spam. Follow the steps below to integrate Akistem with Everest Forms.
Set Up the Akismet Plugin #
First of all, you will need the Akismet plugin. Go to Plugins > Add New. Search for ‘Akismet’. Install and activate the plugin.
Now, you will see a setup screen for the Akismet plugin.
You will need an API key. For this, log in to your account at https://akismet.com/account/. Here, you will find your API Key.
Now, click on the ‘Manually enter an API Key’. Enter the API Key copied from your account.
Activating Akismet in Forms #
Now, go to Everest Forms > All Forms. Edit the form of your choice. Go to Form Settings > Anti-Spam and Security.
From here, you can enable Akismet anti-spam protection. Also, you can set what type of protection you would want. If the form submission looks like spam, you can either reject the submission or mark it as spam.
