The great Chesapeake Bayand the Patapsco River yield up an enormous supply of crabs,oysters and fish. Several lines of steamers bring tropical fruits inabundance. Maryland is the home of the terrapin and thecanvas-back, and Baltimore is the gastronomic center, wherethese delicacies are prepared and where they are consumed inlarge quantities. Baltimore offers the best of foodstuffs in abundance; itsmarkets bulge with the products of the season; reasonable pricesmake it possible for those of limited income to enjoy the benefitsof these exceptional advantages, facts that contribute to Balti-mores reputation as an exceptionally desirable place of residence. 97
