Nightingale is the latest survival game to hit the market in 2024, but players want to know if they’ll be able to play it offline, or if it requires to be always connected to the internet.
The days of buying a game and playing without worrying about the need for an internet connection are unfortunately long gone. These days, it feels like every game you buy has an “always on” element to them, which can be frustrating if your internet goes out, or if you’re traveling away from home.
With that in mind, players want to know whether Nightingale requires an active internet connection to play. Here’s what we know.
Can you play Nightingale offline?
No, you cannot play Nightingale without an internet connection. Because the game needs to be connected to its dedicated servers, and owing to its multiplayer capabilities, you must be connected to the internet to open and play the game, whether you own the Steam or Epic Games Store version.
This will no doubt be a disappointment for gamers who enjoy single-player titles without the need to be online, but it shouldn’t come as a major surprise. In fact, it was more surprising that Palworld allowed players to enjoy capturing its wide variety of monsters without being online. Unfortunately, it seems to be the exception rather than the rule these days.
So there you have it. If you want to play Nightingale, and jump from realm to realm, destroying enemies with magic, you better make sure you’ve paid your ISP bill before release day on February 20. Otherwise, you’ll find yourself locked out of the fun, and watching everyone else with envy.
