Closing Capacity (CC) is a measure in respiratory medicine that tells us when small airways in the lungs start to collapse during breathing out. It helps to understand how well the lungs are working.

    CC is calculated as the sum of the closing volume (CV) and residual volume (RV – the amount of air left in the lungs at the end of a maximal expiration).
