There are many factors that affect body weight and a person’s ability to manage it. While lifestyle changes continue to be the dominant weight-management method for overweight and obese patients, half of surveyed patients with a BMI of 30 or greater who are concerned about their weight say that it is very difficult to manage. The data indicates there is an opportunity to support overweight and obese patients beyond just lifestyle changes. We recently partnered with Klick to conduct a survey to understand the healthcare experiences of people with #obesity, including how the industry can better serve their healthcare needs. Results from the survey reveal that patients concerned about their weight are interested in personalized resources and educational materials to help them better understand weight-management methods. Innovative solutions often come from unexpected sources. At Klick, we’ve taken a unique approach to identifying and solving low-value, high-impact tasks using AI by drawing inspiration from a classic UX story at Ohio State University. Faced with the challenge of designing pathways across a new campus quad, the university allowed natural foot traffic to dictate the paths. The result? An intuitive, effective design that met the users’ needs.Instead of dictating solutions from the top down, we launched the Klick Million Dollar Prize, empowering our employees to propose AI-driven solutions based on their daily experiences. This initiative has yielded remarkable ideas, including: 1. AI-Enhanced Creative Testing: We developed a model that simulates patient reactions to creative concepts, eliminating the need for constant focus groups. This model draws on our extensive experience to predict how different demographics respond, saving time and resources. 2. Authenticity in Influencer Marketing: Analyzing perceptions of authenticity, especially among younger demographics, we discovered that transparency about AI-generated influencers is valued more than traditional paid endorsements. This insight allows us to create and test numerous AI-generated personas to see which resonates best. 3. Streamlined Document Analysis: When a client provided a massive data dump, we used a custom language model to process and synthesize the information rapidly. This approach saved time and ensured unbiased, high-quality insights for our pitch. 4. AI-Assisted MLR Integration: To address the regulatory bottlenecks, we integrated AI with our MLR (medical, legal, regulatory) review process. By leveraging historical data and FDA guidelines, our AI provides real-time feedback to creators, ensuring compliance and reducing review cycles. Our journey with AI at Klick is not about replacing human intelligence but augmenting it. Just as Garry Kasparov’s concept of “centaurs” in chess—a collaboration between humans and AI—has elevated the game, we believe AI can elevate our industry. The productivity gains, quality improvements, and innovative breakthroughs we’ve achieved are a testament to this potential.The ultimate goal is to generate significant value with fewer resources, a necessity in today’s fast-paced environment. AI is indeed changing the game in pharma, and we’re excited to be at the forefront of this transformation.
