WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR 🌟

We are seeking a Area Backend Lead to lead one of our Product Areas with cross functional teams and reporting directly to the Engineering Manager.

WHAT YOU'LL DO πŸš€

  • Tech leadership and decision making about architecture and other technical aspects of the product
  • Ensure timely delivery of new features, maintain existing ones
  • Establish high engineering excellence metrics
  • Actively contribute to resolving challenges by participating in code reviews, system design discussions, and occasionally engaging in hands-on coding to support and coach team members
  • Actively participate in building and maintaining the technical roadmap
  • Lead by example. Coach and mentor others
  • Inspire, develop, recruit, and motivate a software engineering team. Conduct regular 1:1s with team members, set individual development or improvement plans, and foster a healthy feedback culture within the team.
  • Be an ambassador of good practices and team culture
  • Evaluate performance and help improving it if necessary

Example of your Goal: Scale the Instagram Channel area from one to three teams. Provide and execute a step-by-step plan on how we will grow to three teams (hiring plan, team split strategy, roles distribution) in communication with the stakeholders (Head of Engineering, Product Owner, etc.).

WHAT YOU'LL BRING πŸ’₯

  • 7+ years of experience working in a product team as a PHP developer (we use PHP 8)
  • Track record of successfully leading and scaling a cross functional development teams with backend and frontend scope (ideally at least two years' experience in an Engineering Manager role)
  • High level of hands-on technical experience in software development and architecture, with several years of experience working as a senior software developer
  • Profound expertise in back-end software development and system design
  • You would enjoy a 30% share of hands-on technical work (code and architecture reviews, technical design, hands-on coding, ...)
  • Experience in Agile values and principles
