The U.S. has its captain for the 2025 Ryder Cup.

PGA of America President John Lindert announced that Keegan Bradley has been pegged as the next U.S. captain for the event that will take place at Bethpage Black Golf Course in Farmingdale, New York.

The news comes after Tiger Woods rejected the captaincy offer, according to James Corrigan of the Telegraph.

"I am incredibly honored to accept this opportunity to Captain the United States Team at the 2025 Ryder Cup," Bradley said, per RyderCup.com "I would like to thank the PGA of America Ryder Cup Committee for their trust in me as we embark on this journey to Bethpage Black.

Bradley elaborated by acknowledging the importance of the event and his desire to prepare his team to live up to the honor.

"My passion and appreciation for golf's greatest team event have never been stronger," he said. "The Ryder Cup is unlike any other competition in our sport, and this edition will undoubtedly be particularly special given the rich history and enthusiastic spectators at this iconic course. I look forward to beginning preparations for 2025."

Bradley is a six-time PGA tournament winner and notably won the PGA Championship in 2011. His most recent victory came at the 2023 Travelers Championship when he shot a tournament record 23-under. He has played in two Ryder Cups and one Presidents Cup, with his last appearance coming in 2014.

He will succeed Zach Johnson, who served as the 2023 captain of the U.S. team. Europe won that Cup 16 1/2 to 11 1/2.

Europe will be running it back with 2023 captain Luke Donald in the 2025 tournament.

The event is set to take place September 26-28 in 2025.
