We fight climate change by removing CO2 from the air with our Direct Air Capture technology.

About us

AirMiners Launchpad Batch 9 (Sep 2023) - Demo Day in January 2024 We believe that we can build a better future where humans live in harmony with nature. Our mission is to accelerate the transition to a sustainable future by leveraging technology to support nature's carbon cycle through the removal of CO2 from the air and its return to the ground. As pragmatic engineers, we understand the urgency of the climate crisis and the need for practical solutions. Therefore, we are building machines that leverage existing and well-understood technology to remove CO2 from the atmosphere. We recognize that this is just one part of the solution, and that we must also drastically reduce emissions to reach net-zero as soon as possible. By working together, we believe we can help restore the earth's natural balance and unlock a new era of sustainable prosperity.

🚀 Sirona Technologies raises €6M in seed funding 🚀 We are thrilled to announce that Sirona Technologies has successfully raised a €6 million seed round, co-led by LocalGlobe and XAnge, to scale our Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology and deploy our first pilot plant in Kenya. Key Highlights: 🔹 Funding: €6M seed round co-led by LocalGlobe, XAnge and with support from Look Up Ventures, Satgana, VOYAGERS.io, Syndicate One, Renaud Visage and Bernard Hazard. 🔹 Mission: Tackling the monumental challenge of removing CO2 from the atmosphere to reverse climate change. 🔹 Edge: Applying rapid product iteration to reduce costs faster and deploying modular technology to a centralized plant in Kenya to scale as quickly and efficiently as possible. 🔹 Impact: We’ll have a first pilot plant in Kenya by year-end, a commercial plant operational by 2026 and a target of capturing 1 million tons of CO2 annually by 2030. Kenya is welcoming the technology with arms wide open for its co-benefits to local communities. 🌍 We’re living through very interesting times: Reversing climate change using Direct Air Capture (DAC) has gone from being fringe idea that would never work to being a key part of any climate mitigation plan. Priority number one is still to phase out fossil fuels to drastically reduce emissions by ~80%, but it will also be necessary to offset emissions that are too hard to avoid, and to clean up historical emissions. That’s where DAC will play a key role, to help remove 1 trillion tons of CO2 from the atmosphere. That is a massive amount of CO2. The only way we can get there is if we act with Speed and Scale. That’s what we’re all about → https://sirona.tech 🤝 We’re now open for business, so if you’re looking for carbon credits, reach out → info@sirona.tech 💫 And our exceptional team is growing fast to support our growth. Scaling carbon removals 🌍🐳🌳

🌟 We're Hiring! Join us as our Business and Strategy Lead 🌟 🌍 We're expanding our team at Sirona Technologies and seeking a Business and Strategy Lead to help us tackle climate change through our direct air capture (DAC) technology. Together with Sibylle Soers, we have been moving fast and delivering several milestones in the last months. It is now time to grow our business-oriented team to keep delivering our milestones. We are looking for someone with a background in business-related topics who wants to make a significant impact in the climate technology space. 🌱 My experience as COO over the last year has been super exciting, bringing the company from two nerdy engineers to what is starting to look like a real business from a financial, operational and commercial point of view. Working on all the business, financial, and operations topics, I see many exciting challenges ahead of us. Every day, we see new opportunities to grow: an RFP, an inbound, or a new idea to test. As we recruit additional team members and build bigger machines, we are challenged to continuously improve our execution. Moving on our operational and strategic milestones, we need to get creative to avoid bottlenecks we see on our roadmap. We have seen that any additional team member adds firepower, as well as enriches the team reflections on how to move forward. For a new team member, there is a lot of room to leave a strong footprint in a growing company with global ambitions. 🌐 Together with the team, we expect you to leverage your background to bring the company to its next level of maturity: - Shape and implement the company’s commercial strategy, building innovative go-to-market strategies with customers from various industries. 📈 - Oversee project development for our carbon capture plant in Kenya and other potential locations. 🌳 - Develop the supply chain strategy, collaborating with the technical team to identify suppliers, negotiate terms, and plan for scalable supply chain management. 🛠️ - Build the company, literally: participating in key operational decision-making, from branding to office location 🌇 If you have the relevant background, a commitment to removing carbon from the atmosphere, and a knack for solving problems with a mix of creativity and persistence, then you should definitely reach out. 🤝 Not interested but know someone who has the perfect profile? ➡️ Refer that person to us! No need for an intro :) 🔗 Apply here: https://lnkd.in/eXN3uwDv #Hiring #JobOpening #BusinessStrategy #ClimateTech #Sustainability #SironaTechnologies #DirectAirCapture #CDR #CarbonRemoval #CarbonCredits #VCM #VoluntaryCarbonMarket #Startup #Scaleup #DAC #NegativeEmissions

Investor at Serena | Podcast Host Climate Crafters 🌍

We are thrilled to announce the first tripartite agreement between Sirona TechnologiesGreat Carbon Valley and Cella to build a Direct Air Capture (DAC) Hub to capture and sequester carbon in Kenya! The DAC Hub will be located along the Great East African Rift Valley, an active continental rift zone with optimal characteristic for DAC. The region is defined by an abundance of renewable energy and an extensive basalt formation that is ideal to store carbon. This collaboration represents a significant step forward in our shared commitment to address climate change and reduce carbon emissions. We will work hand in hand to develop and scale carbon capture in Kenya: ▶︎  Build a direct air capture plant that will be operational in 2026 ▶︎  Develop a local value chain in cleantech in Kenya, through our partnerships with local energy providers ▶︎  Foster the creation of cleantech jobs in Kenya, by stimulating the need for technical operations and maintenance, as well as renewable energy ▶︎ Generate co-benefits to local communities by enabling large scale off-grid energy generation projects ▶︎ Towards these goals, Sirona Technologies will build and operate the DAC machines, Great Carbon Valley will oversee the project development and Cella will store the carbon. We are excited about this partnership and the potential it holds. Please reach out to us if you want to collaborate and contribute to the achievement of this project.
