Exploring the Future of Aerodrome Operations with Drones - How can drones revolutionize the work of our aerodrome experts and operational staff? Last week, Davy Van Hyfte, Head of Certification and Compliance Unit and Safety Manager at Brussels Airport, showcased three groundbreaking drone use cases at the World Safety Committee in Montreal, Canada (ACI World - Airports Council International). These innovative applications are set to transform inspections traditionally conducted outside the aerodrome perimeter, such as obstacle management, fire rescue routes, and crop management. The use cases, executed at droneport.eu in collaboration with SkeyDrone, are designed to enhance efficiency and safety. Under the leadership of Airport Intelligence, these technologies are being refined for seamless integration into the operational environment. If you’re interested in learning more, we would gladly provide more information.

🌟 A round of applause for the participants of our second APOC-Manager Training! Throughout an intensive week, they engaged in mastering the skills of trust-building, decision making, crisis management and conflict resolution to become the best facilitator in an Airport Operations Center.   But it wasn't just about theory – our participants dove into hands-on experiences, enriched with insights from our own BRU experiences and collaborative sharing of experiences with BRU APOC managers. The energy of knowledge exchange, collaboration, and collective growth was truly inspiring.   A heartfelt thank you to everyone who played a role in making this training a success – our training experts from Aviato Academy and the APOC managers from Brussels Airport.   📣 Would you like to participate in an APOC-manager training yourself? A next APOM training is scheduled from the 14th to the 17th of October 2024. For more information: https://lnkd.in/et56AEvY

Check-out our recent accomplishment! 🔊 Facilitating the first automated #BVLOS drone flight at #DronePort with real-time perimeter inspection by SkeyDrone from Steenokkerzeel! Our living lab demonstrates the potential of remotely controlled 'flying cameras' for dynamic inspections, aligning with market needs for practical drone applications. In collaboration with SkeyDrone, droneport.eu & Brussels Airport!

Do you think it is possible to operate a drone without seeing it at all? 👀 That is exactly what yesterday's test was all about! For the first time at droneport.eu in Sint-Truiden, a fully automated drone flight took place with the drone being outside the pilot's line of sight. The scenario involved a remote perimeter inspection operated at SkeyDrone in Steenokkerzeel. The result of innovation and good collaboration bringing together specialised teams from Airport Intelligence, SkeyDrone, DronePort and #brusselsairport as part of the 'U-space in Practice' event held on the occasion of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2024.
