Meet Sarah & Ava 👋 Shortly after Ava was born, Sarah was drawn to Rosies to connect with others. As a single mum she struggled with isolation, but found comfort at Rosies outreach. “For a few hours each week, I get a break from having to do everything myself and I don’t feel alone. Ava is well looked after and I can just sit and chat with everyone” Sarah said. Want to join one of our outreaches and change the lives of those around us? Head to our website now.

About us
Can you imagine what it would be like if no one had said your name or looked you in the eye in the last three months? Unfortunately this is something that many people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or socially isolated experience. It is our mission to ensure that no Queenslander feels left out or disconnected from their community. Rosies aims to provide friendship and unconditional acceptance to those doing it tough with a warm smile and a hot drink. Some of our patrons even equate connection and conversation to be as important as safe accommodation and food1. The stress that comes with homelessness or being at risk of homelessness also increases the risk of mental illness. You’d be surprised what a difference a simple chat and basic hospitality can do to impact an individual’s mental health and physical wellbeing. “Rosies reaches out to those most in need, people who are homeless or at risk, lonely, and socially isolated within our communities.” Source 1: Conversation between patron and Team leader, Emma Miller Place, Brisbane City 7 March 2021

Homelessness does not just mean “rooflessness.” With only 6.2% of people without a home sleeping rough, the majority of homelessness is hidden. This means people in crisis accommodation, rooming houses, insecure housing, overcrowded dwellings or couchsurfing ❤️ To find out how you can support those experiencing homelessness, get in touch with us today.

We are so grateful for the continued support of Collins Foods Limited. Last year they filled the cab and the tray of our Fundraising Manager's UTE with brand new warm and cozy blankets! This year they have truly outdone themselves and collected more than 450 brand new blankets for our friends in need. We are overwhlemed by their kindness and generosity, thank you for helping us to care for our friends in need. #RosiesCommunity #SharingFriendship

Meet Cindy👋 After waiting seven years to gain access to stable accommodation through social housing, Cindy turned to Rosies in her time of need. “When I first got into housing, I wasn’t coming to Rosies as much because people would say to me, ‘You can’t go there, you’ve got accommodation’ but I’m not wealthy and the Rosies people never said that to me.” Rosies offers people at every stage of their lives somewhere to go, a connection to have, and a warm cuppa. If you’d like to support the work that Rosies does, visit our website today.
