About us
At Carla Zampatti we believe in quality and design. Women want something new they want to be surprised and the challenge is to make a new collection both exciting new and wearable. Born in Italy, Carla settled with her family in Australia in 1950. In 1965, she produced her first small collection for Zampatti Pty Limited, followed two years later by a national launch, and in 1970, by the establishment of Carla Zampatti Limited, a label that was to become a by-word for beautiful clothes, which combine Australian creativity with Italian style. Over the years, she has continually expanded her retail network to create a chain of 28 Carla Zampatti boutiques and concept stores across Australia. Today her clothes are a distinctive part of the modern Australian lifestyle.

On Monday 13th May 2024, Carla Zampatti Presented by Porsche at Australian Fashion Week showcased ‘DINASTIA’ for the first time on Gallery One; the Carla Zampatti Runway, as honoured by IMG Models in 2021. Alex Schuman, CEO of Carla Zampatti said, “This is our first show on the biggest stage in Australian fashion since 2019. It’s an opportunity to honour Mum’s memory on the runway that carries her name. It’s an exciting look at how the brand has evolved and refreshed over the years since she passed away, without forgetting the brand’s history and values.” The show is a celebration of female empowerment, with incredible fit and form that is synonymous with Carla Zampatti. Karlie Ungar, Creative Director of Carla Zampatti said, “This collection is a special one - a personification of our values within the format of a beautiful story. It has characters and each are within us - a reflection of the complexity of the Zampatti woman. I’m always a great champion of runway, a moment to appreciate our manual trade. So many hours go into making our garments - our gowns, our incredible tailoring, and custom accessories. It's a moment to truly showcase us and our formidable brand and history.” The show included a commissioned music score by Gary Sinclair, and a short film by Claudia Rose. Together with the intimate staging on the Carla Zampatti Runway, the show delivers on the brand’s mission to empower women and champion the arts.
