The Council on Environmental Quality provided an updated status report on deficiencies in their FOIA Improvement Plan. They were deficient in revising their FOIA regulations by December 2006 and developing a FOIA handbook and training for staff by March 2006. Staff losses contributed to the delays. They have now filled key positions and will review other agencies' regulations in September 2008, submit draft regulations for review in December 2008, and publish final regulations by June 2009. They will also develop a FOIA handbook for staff training by July 2009.
1) Intranet projects often fail due to poor change management that does not address the organizational and individual changes needed to support the new intranet.
2) Effective change management requires addressing changes at the technical, organizational, and individual levels and proactively managing resistance to change.
3) Key principles for driving intranet change management include obtaining senior sponsorship, maximizing employee participation, increasing appetite for change, designing for change, developing a communications plan, testing reactions and usefulness, and generating critical mass of users.
The document discusses mobile apps and RSS implementations for university libraries. It notes that most students now use mobile devices and prefer texting over email. The document outlines the library's plans to develop mobile-friendly websites and apps to serve mobile users, as well as implement RSS feeds for new books, government information, podcasts, and news on the library website. It provides examples of augmented reality mobile apps used by other universities and opportunities to use such apps at their own university library.
Intranets2012: Aligning your intranet to your businessDeloitte Australia
This document discusses aligning an intranet with business goals and key performance indicators (KPIs). It provides case studies of how CVS Caremark and Discovery Health improved employee engagement and product knowledge by linking their intranet content to organizational values, customer information, and products. A research institute case study outlines a process to 1) identify KPIs, 2) identify tasks to support the KPIs, and 3) develop intranet content to support those tasks. The document emphasizes the importance of aligning an intranet's strategy, content, and tactics with an organization's overall goals and strategy.
James Robertson's closing keynote at Intranets2012 (Sydney, 16-18 May 2012). Explores "four principles of delight", and how they can be applied to intranets, and intranet projects.
What We Learned at CES and What Brands Have to Know – Day 2 RecapOgilvy
The 2013 International CES topped 150,000 attendees, covered 1.92 million square feet of exhibit space, unveiled 20,000 new products and showcased hundreds of speakers discussing the state of the technology industry in just four days.
But with all the hype, commotion and can-not-miss content flowing throughout the 4 day event, we wanted to find the answers to the one thing on the top of all of our minds, “What does all of this mean for my brand?”
Ogilvy & Mather broke down the 2013 International CES into bite size chunks of the most important brand takeaways and trends that you’ll find compiled within “What We Learned at CES and What Brands Have to Know – Day 2 Recap"
Co-authored by: Brandon Berger, Worldwide Chief Digital Officer and Matt Doherty, Associate Director, Global Digital Creative & Strategy
Taking strategy and making it understandable and visible can be really hard - especially in an agile product build environment. The content canvas is a tactic to make strategy more accessible. Learn what it looks like and how it can be applied.
UX Australia - Service Design 2016: Designing great services for suppliers - ...Briony Williamson
This is a Case Study of one of the largest Service Design projects recently undertaken at nbn with its external supply workforce.
This presentation will give a unique insight into what it takes to deliver Australia’s largest infrastructure project, and the challenges behind designing a seamless experience when, being a Wholesale company, it is neither in direct control of selling to the public nor delivering the services itself. nbn has an aggressive rollout timeframe and over the next 4 years suppliers will need to scale operations significantly to meet its strategic target – eight million happy homes by 2020.
There is a cultural shift occurring within nbn – a shift that values collaboration with customers and suppliers. Service design is increasingly adopted across the business to identify strategic and tactical programs of work that improve workforce efficiencies.
The project in which this case study is based not only identified 80 change initiatives but also served as a trial for a new way of working with suppliers.
This presentation will discuss the:
· Factors that led to the cultural shift and establishment of a large scale service design project
· Challenges we experienced and our learnings along the way.
· Techniques we used to enable findings to stick and how we were able to transfer ownership of insights to business owners.
Keyboarding in the Primary Grades (YTO Series)slister
The document discusses the debate around teaching keyboarding skills to elementary school students. It notes that while keyboard familiarization is important, there is controversy around whether to teach full touch typing. Research presented found that students as young as five can compose more quickly on computers than by hand. Effective keyboarding instruction involves teaching correct finger positioning and repetition to develop muscle memory over short lessons of 15-30 minutes.
The document discusses findings from the Worldwide Intranet Challenge survey of over 18,000 intranet users from 60 organizations in 13 countries. The top things employees want from an intranet are the ability to upload/download documents and access instructions for completing work tasks. The survey also measured factors like the intranet's look and feel, ability to find information, interactivity, maintenance, performance, and content. It provides tips for improving an intranet's findability, organizing work tasks, and highlights scheduling regular analysis as a key recommendation.
This document discusses the importance of empathy in design through the use of personas. It defines personas as a tool that helps designers understand users by determining what a product should do, communicating needs to teams, and building consensus. Successful personas require first-hand research, including the whole team, developing intimate knowledge of each persona, relevance to objectives, and rich scenarios. Empathy is key - designers must immerse themselves in users' perspectives. The document also discusses how empathy is vital for disruptive innovation and blue ocean strategy, which involve understanding non-customers' viewpoints.
Embrace, Extend and Leap. Three strategies to help you ensure that SharePoint keeps pace with the Social innovation that is taking place on the Internet today.
Closing keynote by James Robertson at Intranets2011 (Sydney, May 11-13). Outlines three "life stages" for intranets, and shows what "essential" intranets look like.
Four & Twenty Pi - A recipe for adapting service design to a government contextSimon Wong
This document outlines an approach to adapting service design for government contexts called "Four & Twenty Pi". It discusses moving from a customer service model to a more customer-centric model. It recommends that organizations use their internal resources wisely, relinquish some control to encourage ownership, and view designers as guides rather than doing the work. Designers should teach skills like empathy and interviewing. Both organizations and designers should focus on capability development through action rather than perfection.
The document provides an update on the Maximo project implementation at two Lafarge cement plants in Jordan. It discusses preparations in 2004 which included auditing maintenance activities and creating an emergency action plan. The project will be implemented in two stages, with stage one in 2005 focusing on inspection job plans, equipment data, and work order management. Stage two in 2006 will address additional requirements like interfaces and advanced planning. The project aims to improve maintenance practices and efficiency through a standardized asset management tool.
The M&E unit revised program logframes and M&E plans for several programs. Fieldwork was completed for the PSP endline survey and the report is due in June. A presentation on findings from the YRC baseline survey was developed. The ToR for the AHI endline survey was drafted. Methodology and questionnaires for SOCMOB baseline surveys were finalized. Two new staff joined the M&E unit and priorities for June include developing additional ToRs and data verification.
Planning Mid-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Performance Based Budgetin...Oswar Mungkasa
The document outlines a plan to implement MTEF and PBB reforms in Australia over the next 5-10 years. It involves piloting the program structures and baseline in 2008, then full implementation across agencies from 2009-2011 by establishing the required institutions and performance reporting. The plan also introduces a performance framework in phases, starting with modest operational flexibilities from 2012-2016, then expanding to include evaluation and monitoring mechanisms from 2014 onward, with a full review of the framework in 2016. Key issues that need consideration include whether the timeframes are realistic, what still needs to be done to meet the plan, and defining various elements of the framework like expenditure groups and accountability reporting.
ITPS working group on Soil Organic CarbonSoils FAO-GSP
The document discusses several initiatives related to monitoring and assessing soil organic carbon led by the Global Soil Partnership's Intergovernmental Technical Panel on Soils, including:
1. A Monitoring, Reporting and Verification Protocol to assess soil organic carbon stocks and greenhouse gas emissions from agricultural lands.
2. An interpretation document for the Global Soil Organic Carbon map to provide guidance on its uses and relationship to climate change and food security decisions.
3. Plans to update the Global Soil Organic Carbon map to version 1.6 in 2020 and release a new Global Soil Organic Carbon Sequestration Potential map to estimate sequestration under different soil management scenarios.
Getting started on the PBB reform agenda in Indonesia – a practical outline o...Oswar Mungkasa
The document outlines a 5-phase process for developing a performance budgeting framework in Indonesia, with Phase 1 involving 6 steps to set up a performance monitoring regime, including defining outcomes and programs, selecting indicators, specifying targets, and reporting. It provides examples from Australia of how to implement these steps in practice and highlights the importance of planning operational flexibilities and accountability arrangements after the initial performance framework is established.

This document outlines the course project requirements for an ACCT 212 accounting course. It consists of two parts - Course Project 1 and Course Project 2.
Course Project 1 has two parts (A and B) due in weeks 3 and 5 respectively. It involves journal entries, general ledger, trial balance, and other accounting cycle steps. Course Project 2 is due in week 7 and involves analyzing financial statements and comparing to industry standards using a textbook problem. Templates and grading rubrics are provided for both projects. Students are instructed to submit the completed projects to a Dropbox by the specified due dates.
This document provides an executive summary of IFRS 1 First-time Adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards. IFRS 1 establishes the rules for an entity's first IFRS financial statements and provides both mandatory exceptions and optional exemptions from full retrospective application of IFRSs. The general principle is retrospective application, but IFRS 1 aims to ease the burden on first-time adopters through limited relief from full retrospective application.

Revised Statements on Standards for Tax Services: An Exposure Draft and Invitation to Comment | 2
Explanatory memorandum
Introduction
Statements on Standards for Tax Services (SSTSs) are
issued by the AICPA Tax Executive Committee (TEC),
the senior technical body of the AICPA designated to
promulgate standards of tax practice. The General
Standards Rule (AICPA, Professional Standards, ET
secs. 1.300.001 and 2.300.001) and the Compliance
With Standards Rule (AICPA, Professional Standards,
ET secs. 1.310.001 and 2.310.001) of the AICPA Code
of Professional Conduct require compliance with these
standards. Many state boards of accountancy also
incorporate the SSTSs as part of their professional rules
of conduct for CPAs.
The purpose of this combined document is to
solicit feedback, respectively, on:
1. Part 1: Exposure Draft (ED) of proposed
revisions to the AICPA's SSTSs that, if
adopted, will become effective on
Jan. 1, 2024, and
2. Part 2: Invitation to Comment (ITC) on
potential approaches to effectively
introduce quality management in tax.
In September of 2018, the AICPA TEC approved
formation of the SSTS Revision Task Force to update
the SSTSs to (1) better reflect the issues and needs
of members and the tax practices of today and in the
future and (2) ensure the highest ethical standards for
members who support the public’s view that CPAs are
the premier providers of tax services.
As part of those efforts, the task force:
• Developed a new structure to organize the SSTSs
by type of tax work performed,
• Updated the existing standards to better reflect
the current and possible future state of the tax
profession and
• Drafted three new standards surrounding data
protection, reliance on tools and the representation
of clients before taxing authorities.
In addition, the task force explored items that will
require additional research and investigation and held
extensive discussions among its members and multiple
committees to explore what, if any, revisions to the
SSTSs should be made to address issues of quality
management in tax.
Stakeholders are invited to comment on all matters
in this ED and ITC. Specific questions related to the
ED and ITC are included at t.

Net zeroing in on investment: Can the Government deliver a fair transition?ResolutionFoundation
The new Labour Government says it wants clean energy – and wider action on climate change – at the heart of its new economic strategy, pledging to go further and faster on decarbonising electricity, insulating homes, and shifting to electric vehicles than plans in the previous parliament.
These changes will facilitate economic growth and climate recovery in the long run, but the short-term costs in both political and actual capital investment should not be underestimated, and will need to be carefully considered. In particular, the Government should be acting now to ensure the costs are fairly shared, and do not lead to further declines in living standards for low-to-middle income households.
What scale of public investment can be achieved, given the condition of the public finances? How should the Government encourage the levels of private investment required? How can these costs be fairly shared across different regions and households? And will there be enough political will to deliver the investment needed for a fair transition?

Status Report on the Implementation of CEQ’s FOIA Improvement Plan under EO 13392
1. Council on Environmental Quality
Executive order 13392 Updated Status Report
1. Identify the FOIA Improvement Plan area to which your deficient milestone relates.
1) FOIA regulations revision
2) CEQ Handbook and Training
2. Identify the deficient milestone (including the original target date listed in the
agency’s FOIA Improvement Plan).
1) Submit draft FOIA regulations to the Federal Register in December of 2006
2) Develop a handbook on FOIA and records management for training CEQ staff by
March 2006.
3. Describe the specific steps you have taken to date to correct the deficiency, including
the dates by which you completed these steps (this should include every corrective
step listed in your FY07 Annual FOIA Report that you have since completed).
1) As noted in CEQ’s Annual FOIA Report for Fiscal Year 2007, CEQ’s inability to
revise its FOIA regulations derives in large part from the loss of key Office of General
Counsel staff. In July 2006, the paralegal specialist who managed CEQ’s FOIA Service
Center retired from Federal service. After several false starts, the position was filled
successfully in December 2007. Also in December 2007, CEQ’s long-time General
Counsel retired and, although she was succeeded immediately by her deputy, the position
of Deputy General Counsel was not filled until June 2008. The Office of General Counsel
is now fully staffed and attention can be directed toward revising CEQ’s FOIA
regulations.
2) As noted in CEQ’s Annual FOIA Report for Fiscal Year 2007, completion of revised
FOIA regulation is a necessary precondition for developing a CEQ handbook on FOIA.
4. Describe any additional steps that you will be taking in the future to correct the
deficiency, including the dates by which you will complete these steps (this should
include every corrective step listed in your FY07 Annual FOIA Report that you
have not completed).
• Review other agency regulations (September 2008).
• Coordinate with the Department of Justice Office of Information and Privacy and
the Office of Management and Budget regarding the implement of regulatory
revisions (September 2008).
2. • Submit draft FOIA regulations for interagency review (December 2008).
• Submit draft FOIA regulations to the Federal Register (March 2009).
• Publish final FOIA regulations (June 2009).
• Review similar handbooks from other agencies and identify models for replication
(June 2009).
• Draft text and circulate for review, coordinating with EOP’s Office of Records
Management and others as needed (July 2009).
• Publish electronically and make available to all staff (July 2009).
• Train CEQ staff (January 2009, quarterly thereafter).
