Here are some tips to remember while you are playing hardcore mode

Always watch your back because you cant afford to die from a stupid accident

Never recklessly charge into a cavern because there could be a huge amount of skeletons or something

Use subtitles. Go into music and sounds and turn on subtitles so you can see in the corner like 'skeleton rattles' so you are prepared for a skeleton attack or 'creeper hisses' so you can run quickly.

Bring water buckets when you go mining or just anywhere in general so you can stop fall damage or burning to death.

Also here is a little cheat, if you die and go into spectator mode, you can left click a mob to possess it and leave the game and rejoin. You will be alive again magically! I don't know if it is a glitch or a secret way to come back to life.

When going to the nether, always be paranoid. If you feel like you need to go back, YOU PROBABLY SHOULD DO SO. I have died many times going after that last piece of quartz or exploring the nether fortress just a little bit more, then you burn in lava or blown up by a ghast or some other freak accident. Also, always bring flint and steel with you when traveling to the nether because if something destroys the portal you can just reignite it again.

Build a wall or some other defensive structure around your home so you don't walk out of your minecraft house and a creeper blows you up unexpectedly.

Feather falling is also a good enchantment for boots when playing hardcore mode so you don't accidentally fall to your death.

So now you know some good survival tips when playing hardcore mode. Happy Crafting :)
