Once upon a time, in the days before the official survival mode was added, creepers, zombies, and skeletons played with passive mobs. When a new mob was announced, the mobs perked up. The creeper, being very cautious of unknown mobs, delved into the caves. The other mobs, however, bounced around and waited for the new mob to come.
A skeleton peeked its head into the cave. A chicken flapped in, then clucked into the cave. The creeper came out.
The zombie, still jumping, showed a pig the new mob. It was a spider, a brown one. The creeper immediately returned to the cave. The skeleton led the spider around to see which places it liked best. The passive mobs showed their homes to the spider, and the zombie followed behind.
The spider disagreed on all of the biomes of the passive mobs. The passive mobs followed the skeleton and zombie into the caves. Suddenly, they heard a hissing noise.
The skeleton told the spider to stay back as it and the zombie went into the cave. The player was chasing the creeper. The zombie and skeleton didn’t know what to do, but the spider was watching. It crawled into the cave and pointed out its ability to climb.
The zombie sent the brown spider down. It quickly fetched the creeper out of the niche it was trapped in.
The creeper was brought to safety, and the zombie and skeleton quickly let out a sigh as they and the creeper lied down in a safe spot in the cave.
Finally, the spider decided that it liked the caves. Just as it told the other hostile mobs, the player came into view. Horrified, the creeper told the zombie and skeleton to hide in a crevice. The spider crawled out of the safe spot and into the open.
Immediately, the player slammed its foot down on the spider. Struggling, the spider tried to escape, but it was too small. It let out a long noise, then died.
The skeleton came out of the hole it was in and fired the zombie out of its bow. The zombie came up from the ground, and punched the player, taking off an arm, eating it whole, then pushing the player into a deep hole.
But remnants of the spider were still there. Soon, a cow showed the other mobs a new spider, this time black and red. The mobs threw a party for the spider’s reincarnation, and lived happily ever after.
Later on, skeletons learned the art of riding spiders, and spiders became common pets for skeletons, although they rarely show it. Spiders’ eyes are cruelly extracted, and fermented to eat or be used in brewing.
