Once upon a time, a spider was born into Minecraft. From that, the creepers began to acclimate to the inevitable fact that new mobs were coming.

At that point, there were only four hostile mobs: creepers, zombies, skeletons, and spiders, the ones we love and hate today. When a new one was introduced, even the creepers were excited.

The mobs bounced and bounced of happiness. Suddenly, they realized they were on a cliff. The ground below them crumbled.

The chickens crowded together and motioned for the other mobs to hop on. Since there were many chickens, the mobs peacefully floated to the ground instead of dropping to a bouncy death. The chickens landed in a swamp.

Nightfall was approaching, so the passive mobs found homes in trees to sleep through the night. While the passive mobs dozed, the hostile mobs stayed through the night, looking for the new monster.

The skeleton, zombie, and creeper were searching in tiny crevices that the new mob might be squishing through. While the zombie was searching, a squishy noise suddenly came about. The creeper jumped, then alerted the skeleton about the new mob. It was a slime.

Many spiders arose to see the sight, then climbed up every tree to alert every animal that the new mob was there.

After every mob gathered around the tiny, bouncy creature, it finally announced that it would rather sleep at the time than tell its story.

One by one, the passive mobs gathered in their trees, and the hostile mobs laid down in piles of leaves. Just before it went to sleep, the skeleton picked two sticks off of a delicate tree and rubbed them together, lighting an appreciative fire before letting the slime sleep.

At morning, everyone woke to listen to the slime. It broke down in tears before speaking. The mobs questioned its behaviour, as a chicken blew out the fire. A spider patted the slime’s squishy body. Then, finally, the story began.

“I faced many difficulties of receiving this body,” the slime said. “My overall dream was to be the first mob to have a translucent body. And through all the pointy swords, blazing fires, and bubbling lava, I only have a measly opaque body.”

Out of nowhere, the player lunged down on the slime. Fleeing, every mob hissed, groaned, squealed, or panted before running off into the distance.

After the scary scene, the other mobs recollected around the slime. But it wasn’t one slime - it was four! The mobs cheered as they celebrated the splitting of the slime. As the slime grew and split, it earned its lifelong dream - to become transparent. Thus became the slime we know today, the one that emerges at full moon, or bounces around in superflat worlds. And always remember - try, and you’ll always win.

Side Note: This is by far the happiest and thinkiest ending I've made for a mob theory.
