When i use this with premiumwood my birch wood is purple and others are also messed up. Please help because i love this texturepack
Hm... Are you sure you're used the HD Patcher? The game might be reading the textures wrong because of that. Other than that I don't know, it works fine for me! You would just be mistaking a Purple tree for a birch tree! :tongue.gif:
Just looks like you just added a subtle 'Bevel and Emboss' layer style on a 32px default terrain. Don't get me wrong it looks nice, but I'm not absolutely gobsmacked like some of the people here.

Yes, it is mostly just a bevel on most of the textures, which I myself had wanted to see for a while. Don't get me wrong, it was still a fair amount of work, since I had to work out which parts of the terrain to bevel by how much, and I also had to prevent it from tiling. No, it wasn't exactly hard to make, but it still took quite a long time.
Yes, I completely understand the various amount of work of fiddling tiling and selecting the proper parts to bevel. Apologies if you thought I was implying that you just nabbed a template and pasted the same layer style on each texture. I would love to see some original works to fully showcase your skills, from what I have seen though Defined is your only texture pack?

Ahah, no I didn't think that. But yes, this is my only pack, since I'm not too great at making completely original stuff but I feel I'm good at (and I enjoy) messing around with visual effects. Maybe I'll make some original stuff one day, but it's not really my thing. Thanks for the comments, by the way :biggrin.gif:
As an experiment, I attempted to make a 128x pack like this last night. It took about 3 minutes to find the right mosaic/pattern filter and depth, and another couple of minutes to find the correct blend with the default layer. A quick terrain.png zip and I had myself a bevelled pack (with a few errors on transparent textures).
Unfortunately, as cool as the effect is, all attention these packs get doesn't quite seem quite right when there are other unique "from scratch" texture packs that have had hundreds upon hundreds of hours spent on crafting them that get far less attention.
That said, I appreciate that along with the correct filter, there needs to be quite a lot of editing to ensure correct tiling, no stray pixels and to generally clean up all the mistakes that filters can generate so I realise this isn't just a 5-10 minute job :smile.gif:.
You've certainly done this pack well though, so full credit there.
First off, thanks for the compliments, much appreciated (:
Second, I totally agree that, while this may have taken a while to make, it definitely didn't take as much effort as many other 'from scratch' packs, and I do feel a little bad taking some of the spotlight away from them. I guess it's up to personal taste, though, I only really got attention because my pack suited the taste of PaperBat enough for him to use it in his videos. I think with this pack, and packs like Faithful, is that they are based on textures that people will recognise, and sometimes it can be off-putting switching to something so different, no matter how appealing the pack is.

LOL I guess my MCpatcher wasnt working but it is now thanks :smile.gif:. And i wasnt mistaking birch for purple lol
The thing about paintings is that I have absolutely no idea how I would go about doing them... I will certainly take a look and try to do one, but what I'd do with them exactly is beyond me.
You should give Mo' Creatures these amazing textures! That would make my Singleplayer world with all of my mods trully 'Defined'!! :biggrin.gif: PS...many diamonds for you! <3 vv

Now with Randomite!
Its a shame I cant use it cuz my PC is x32. But it is HD. 720p
That's the point. It's supposed to be a re-texture of the original, making it look neater and nicer.
Just use the MCPatcher, and all your dreams may come trueee

It's pretty easy to do that all you have to do is edit it with gimp or photoshop
