If you run the map on a server and run the terrain generation and seed differently, you should see the new generation. I have only generated the spawn chunks in the download, and it spreads you out to thousands of blocks from the initial lobby position.
as for advertisement, it was not my intention to simply advertise. I was merely linking the other forum to this thread to share the idea for the mini-game instead of duplicating the post, or rewriting the entire post. It wasn't until you posted did I realize it was a console thread... so I'm not even sure it is applicable?
Alright then. Your wording seemed like an advertisement instead of a suggestion, so I took it as one. I realize you were trying to gather support for the idea, but it kinda seemed off-putting to me.
As for the "console thread" comment, yeah, the fact that the console mini-games are for the, well, consoles, and the console version of Minecraft doesn't support all the features this map uses, it might affect how likely your idea will be accepted. However, these mini-games are packaged as separate games, so Mojang could cheat and add the versions into the mini-game and not the main game.
Another thing I might as well mention that might make the mini-game not be accepted is it's similarity to regular Minecraft. The console mini-games you see are multiplayer games that are different from normal Survival Minecraft, however this map is only an extra challenge added to Survival. It may not be what Mojang is looking for in mini-games so it might not get accepted.
I hope it does get accepted though. Give players a taste of Minecraft, but with a twist. It's not a full-on demo, but it isn't completely different either.
I love the idea of this game. Question. The latest version says random direction. How does that work? Does it pick a new direction each day? Does it tell you during the day which direction it will be moving the next morning?
If I was planning it, I'd make it move a random direction each day and tell you during the day which direction it would move next, but make that direction be NOT ever the reverse of the day before, so you never wind up right back where you were the day before yesterday.
Of course even if it does move back to where you were 2 days before, you wouldn't have been able to predict that in advance, so you couldn't exactly plan and leave things behind for your future self, anyway. But if it's a random direction with any chance of ever winding up where you were before, at least you can leave spare things in chests when you can't carry everything anyway, and those chests always *might* be useful in the future. Assuming the world border doesn't delete chests or structures or anything as it goes, of course.
I downloaded this and tried to start it up, but it doesn't start the game for me from the lobby. I select my difficulty by right-clicking the sign, right-click on the "ready" sign, and it says "Ready? Make your selection below". But there is no more option to make a selection, even if I hadn't already selected my difficulty -- right-clicking does nothing. And nothing else happens. I can't see anywhere else that I'm supposed to go -- there's no exit -- and I would assume it SHOULD tp me to my starting position, anyway.
Is this just not working in 1.12 yet? Or am I doing something wrong or missing something I should be seeing?

Nice map dude! And good on you for keeping your map up to date even though it doesn't have much recognition(it deserves more)!!! Also, besides those few comments from some guy, I appear to be one of the first to comment here in years!!!
the only bad thing i have to say is that i think the lobby is a bit too fancy and intricate and what happened to all the different options?
Life has definitely been busy for me, and for that I am sorry.
as for compatibility updating, it has not happened yet. I will try to find time in the upcoming weeks to convert it to the latest. The problem is that all the coding is COMPLETELY reformed. For the better? I’m not sure. For now, just be sure to play it on an earlier version until I can update it...
I have finished coding this game!! I am proud to announce that a 1.16.5 version is 99% completed. Just need to fix some minor bugs.
It will have a datapack that you can load onto any map you wish. I will be uploading a world file soon along with some instructions. Which format would you prefer for the map upload?
Lastly, looking for somebody to help to create a large 3D model of an arrow for a resource pack (so you can see the arrow properly in the sky). Will be placing this item (block?) onto an arnourstand head in the sky for all to see!
Many optimisation upgrades! Hopefully this game runs smoother for you!
New features:
- High Scores (based on a factor of the difficulty settings)
- Configurable settings added (Spread)
- Added music (adjust volume with Jukebox audio setting)
- Added super scary border movement sounds! SERIOUSLY RUN!!!!!
- Fixed Nether Bug - you can now enter the Nether dimension - though the world border still exists!
- Bed Bug fixed! Your spawn will now follow the arrow even if you use a bed!
- Optimized Functions so only pertinent code will run instead of everything all at the same time!
- Optimized world file. Your computer/server will have to generate the world, but it is now a significantly smaller file!
WIP:
- End Bug - world border will not center to you when in the end due to coordinate mismatch. Will have to adjust potentially removing the world border if you make it to the end as a reward?
- Tutorial Sequence
- New Options (Direction Randomization, Death limits, keepInventory)
- Starting Gear
- Reintroduce a physical Lobby (for map submission)
- Minecraft Realms Submission (Once all of the bugs and features have been ironed out and added)
200 DOWNLOADS IN A WEEK?!?!?! Where did this traffic come from?? Looking for feedback if you have any! Please let me know if you find anything (link in OP)!
CHANGELOG:
- Trigger functions now allow non-OP players to change settings!
- Pause menu now available at all times but Options will be disabled after 5 minutes of game time.
- Smoothed out worldborder sizing transition when changing during game.
- Changing settings mid-game now incurs a penalty. Option changing can no longer be exploited.
- Running the datapack on another map no longer requires the use of the START function. It should now automatically detect if the game has not been initiated.
- Fixed the testing for random players. It instead tests ALL players eliminating a potential for settings not triggering.
Hi, I'm new to custom maps. When starting the map I get "click to start: begin nomad survivor" or also "click one of the following survivor: continue game? Restart game". For some it will be easy, but for me it is being very difficult. I have no idea how to start the map. I am in single player at 1.16.5. Can someone help me please. My English is not very good.

Continue Game - is an option to select if you have closed down the map/game, and returned to play again. By selecting Continue you continue from your last location. You should keep all of your items as before, and not move from where you last played. It's basically "unpausing" the game.
Restart Game - is an option to wipe the board clean, and start a new game fresh. Click to start - is the same thing as restart.
I hope this clears things up!
EDIT: After quick inspection, the map seems to be broken. I am investigating to see if 1.17 broke it or if there is something in the code I have missed. Apologies
EDIT 2: It appears the command REPLACEITEM has been removed silently in 1.17? This broke the reset command. I will upload 3.9 with the fixed files ASAP. Uploaded 3.9!
Seems there is a small bug that causes the respawn anchor point to fail to spawn, so after the border moves away, you are stuck in a previous location… will investigate and re-upload a new pack. But as long as you don’t die, it seems to work still. 😅
I forgot that's how Minecraft works. Cool then.

Bump
On it... Sorry, fell off the earth for a while.
I will investigate into 1.12 compatibility - I have not tried it in the latest versions...
