Most amazing map i ever played on (the firey one). Also the most frustrating
I allmost rage quit one time when i was comming home
i had atleast 448 blocks of iron (7 stacks of 64) and i fell off my bridge right into your lava :*(
i was like SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII.
Allmost as bad as the time a creeper jumped out of the roof of your cave and blew up 3 diamonds

... and this would be the reason for the increased levels of resources, because you're going to die and lose a lot of stuff while playing. At least, that's what I figured would happen. Also I wanted to make sure the player had access to enough iron to make many suits of iron armor, because I also figured the player would fight a lot and use it all up.
The sea of flame map was quite fun, but what's up with insane amounts of resource deposits? It stops being of any challenge at the point you dig into stone.
Otherwise, good job, hope to see more of these.

I quit the first map, minecraft really scares me too much. I cant take the first rabbit hole.
And here is my dilemma, what one player finds difficult or scary, another player might find trivial or easy. I suppose a lot depends on where you go, where and how you make a shelter, and what your play-style is.
I suppose I could make a second version of the map, that's designed to be even harder... and just have two versions up for download, one that is "Hard for normal MC players" and the other is "Hard for expert MC players"... something like that maybe?
I found the best secret area in sea of flame, but I have no idea what to do... I kind of left everything back at the house. are you supposed to get there via rabbit hole? (i went to an Island in the distance)

They could make great test subjects for those of us racking our brain about how to thwart the nooby menace. You could call it 'anti-greif research'.

You should be able to get into the cave and tunnel system below ground. Try digging down.
FUUUU man, just FUUU. I cut down the tree at sea of flames and the saplings fell to lava D: I never thought that they could actually fly that away
EDIT : I lol'd at "yo dawg" chest. Also what am i supposed to do at that "free items" chest? these darn creepers coming from both side keep pulverizing me (6xCreeper spawners from front, natural spawn from behind) D:
And i found a really long tunnel made of glass and a sea of monster spawners, i think i found all secrets at sea of flames

I don't judge people by their usernames, grammar or comments.
I judge them by their avatars.
your maps are the only pre made maps i play, i really like them alot and i llike how you put in the little details
EDIT: and if your planning on adding nether portals please also make a version of the map for multiplayer, because as you know nether portals do not work unless you have plugins.....my server admin likes to run vanilla minecraft ( except for mcmmo ) and it would be really just awesome if you could also make a multiplayer verrsion thanks =D
This map (sea of flames) is too easy for me, I'm good at minecrafting.
However, is there any water on the sea of flames? I'm just wondering.
If you haven't found the water yet - and yes, there is water - then are you sure you are good at minecrafting?
Mwahahahahah. <3
I have a guess...
is it inside a chest? I can't really see how it wouldn't be... we'd hear it otherwise, unless you hid it in some silly place like in the middle of all that lava... or a hidden tunnel.
nice map, I think I'm going to restart though, I have an idea for when I luck out and get free stuff that
prevents the gravel from falling. BTW, that was the most obvious trap I've ever seen. no one puts gravel on top of a chest without a reason. I thought that lava would come down though and was very prepared when I removed the first block... then I threw caution to the winds and broke the bottom one.
nice work Vechz. unfortunately, I've only died twice thrice on flame and one time was me just walking into lava, and once on infernal sky, and that was only because some skeleton knocked me off a bridge with an arrow. If only you could make a map that gets harder over time....

Updated with new version of The Sea of Flame. :biggrin.gif:
I think that there is a little bit too much wood in the hardcore version, and the tnt traps can be used to gather cobble easily, which makes the player able to make a pickaxe (and torches) early. It would also be good to make the game start at nightfall, so the player would have to find a shelter immediately.
Bwa? 4 for your workbench, that leaves 4 wood planks left over. Use 2 planks for sticks, now you have 4 sticks and two wooden planks.
If I gave you just one tree trunk block, you would only be able to make a workbench.
Damn you and your creeper spawners on the Sea of Flame!!!
I finally got rid of the
SIX spawners in that first rabbit hole, and the one under the pillar of moss stone, but I really don't doubt that there's more. Nevermind, just found ANOTHER a LOT more
So far I've only tried The Sea of Flame, but wow, you did a great job on this as far as I can tell, it's very challenging. I hope you release more maps soon =)
