The CCDC sponsors international scientific awards for scientists through the auspices of appropriate professional organisations, who are responsible for seeking nominations, judging poster presentations and making arrangements for award presentations.

CCDC Engagement Grants

Engage, inspire, share! These grants from CCDC enable you to create STEM outreach resources and activities to inspire others about crystallography and structural science.

 

  • Cover costs for you to produce resources or activities to increase schools and public engagement in crystallography and structural science.
  • Awarded by CCDC as part of our charitable mission; to advance science for the public benefit. Launched in 2022, we hope the grants will enable more people to inspire the next generation of scientists.

Poster Prizes at National, Regional, and International Crystallographic Associations Congresses

CCDC supports a number of poster and short presentation prizes for early career scientists that are awarded at national, regional, and international Crystallographic Associations congresses. Examples include the IUCr Congress and the European Crystallography Meeting (ECM).

CCDC poster prizes are awarded for original research in the following subject areas:

  • Chemical crystallography, including advances in instrumental, experimental or computational techniques.
  • Applications of small-molecule crystallographic information in, e.g., structural chemistry, molecular modelling, materials design, structural biology or chemical informatics.

CCDC Chemical Crystallography Prize for Younger Scientists

The CCDC Chemical Crystallography Prize for Younger Scientists is sponsored annually as part of the BCA Spring Meeting. The prize is awarded by British Crystallographic Association (BCA), Chemical Crystallography Group (CCG). Nominations must be made to the Secretary of the BCA Chemical Crystallography Group.
